I am going to college out at Boulder next year and I wanted to try to sell my volkl walls cause i dont really ski that much park and get a ski that performs all over the mountain-something that shines in the powder and back country, but can handle the groomers when necesarry. So far after some extensive research the three top candidates are the Atomic Blog, the K2 Obsethed, and the Liberty Helixs. Any ideas as to which of those three skis I should get, or possibly something I may not have listed here that fits the requirements I want for my new ski?
i have JJs and they can carve amazingly once you get used to it. they are also great in powder. i just took them to revelstoke and they murdered pow. maybe look into those.
The JJs are the most expensive i think though. I know they would kill pow but does it take a while to get used to them on hardpack and what not, or does that come pretty quick?

obsethed are rockered and have full twin tip unlike the blogs. i dont know much of the helix, but i have a pair of obsethed. i would tell you to get obsethed
I have 08/09 obsethed (same as this years, different graphic) in a 179 and ski whistler and have done 100+ days on them and I absolutely love em. They are so sick apart from in real crud and boilerplate.
recently I skied the 2011 Blog and it skis very similar. Its lighter but not quite as stable, but it has a bit more rocker and is more playful. Potentially my next ski.
Both sick skis if your lighter weight and prefer a softer ski.
Salomon Shogun. Hands down best performing ski for front face/pow/trees.
So responsive but floats with the perfect amount of rocker. This ski is the real deal. If you look at next year's line from Salomon, they are incorporating the same technology into next year's Czar.
Some research or background knowledge may help you in knowing before just recommending the ski you ride, the blog is atomic's version of the JJ, or the same as the bent chetler but not as fat which is like the JJ. It may be quite possible that the blog and JJ are even pressed by the same machine since armada has their skis pressed by atomic. But the blog or jj will not let you down. and the shougun is another good choice.
helix, imo. not as much rocker as the other two, but stupid light (unlike the obsethed) and super stable. skied soooo incredibly well everywhere. i didnt get to ski any pow with it, but it killed groomers and the park, so anything else is a bonus (at 105 underfoot with a little early rise, it should rule for you.)
