I am looking for a new ski. im debating between the k2 Kung Fujas and the obsethed. i want a ski that will do great in powder as that is where i like to ski the most, but i also do jumps and ski on groomers. i was thinking the obsethed because of the wideness and the rocker for the powder, and the fujas because i have heard good things about them, i dont do anything in park. i like how flexy the obsethed is, but have not had a chance to feel the fujas. im 5' 8" and 176 lbs. i want a ski that can handle all over, and especially well in powder.
i loved riding obsetheds. They are great in pow but you can still carve on groomers and hit jumps on them. i would say that thy are a good one ski quiver
Well if your talking about this years models than get the obsetheds for sure. I have them and they shred the pow but i still have such a good time on groomers and park. A true all mountain ski that has that wide underfoot to slay pow. Next years obsetheds are 117 underfoots if im not mistaken which would 12mm wider than this years. There is also a lot more rocker so id say that the next years are limited when it comes to all mountain
i haven't heard that about 117 underfoot but if so that's way sick. If the obsethed goes that big the hellbent will be off the wall and i'll have to get a pair.
That's true about the ObSETHed, but they are also going to be stiffer with no tail rocker (I think). So it's gonna be meant more for charging. Hellbents will be wider too I believe. I just hope they are not much heavier.
i got the '10 obsethed in 179cm as my one ski quiver on the east coast. It hasn't been the best year here in VT for them, but i couldn't be happier. They are pretty stable at high speeds, the tips don't even flap that much and they can rail turns. I haven't been in anything real deep so I can't really tell you what they are like in floaty pow, but I have heard that they "magically" expand underfoot and are awesome. Even though you aren't into park, they are super fun on jumps and make for stable landings. The soft flex in the tips and tails make it fun to butter, nollie. it would help to know where you are located and what mountains you ski, because even though i am on the EC, the obsethed makes a better west coast quiver of one.
my friend has the obsethed here in nc and he loves them.. got em center mounted and all we do is park! super poppy, flexy and just fun to screw around on. he has not trouble doing sw ups 270 on and off and jumping! sick sick ski esp with the rocker..
i've never skied them, but they won't be as good on groomers since the rocker is way bigger. if you mean backcountry jumps then they'll be awesome if you mean jumps in the park they're gonna be a lot heavier. Definitely look like fun skis though, i'm probably getting some soon, and it's not like you can't ride them on groomers it's just not ideal.
I have last years 179's. They are super fun, and work well in pretty much all terrain. The only place where I struggle with them is in tight trees, because they are heavy and can be a bit challenging for someone of my size (l140 lbs) to control precisely and aggressively. That being said, I love them to death.
