alright so today was the 4th time within 2 weeks that i ahve had this problem. i go off a jump and when i spin i fly out of my binding, and my goddamn brake snaps off. i have had to buy 4 brakes in the past 2 weeks. twice from me falling and them snapping off, once from going off a jump, and grinding a corrugated pipe and the brake getting stuck in a ridge. the fucking piece of plastic that holds the brake to the binding is so fucking thin, this is such bullshit. i tried to call rossi tonight and they are only open mon-fri, and i am tired of paying fuckin 20 bucks for a new brake everytime this bullshit happenes. I'm sorry for the rant but this is serious bullshit. has anyone else broken their brakes this many times? this problem just started this season, they were new last year and did not have a problem with them at all. then this year all this shit starts to happen. When i do call rossi, should i push for free brakes? or just give them a piece of my mind.
The brake problem happened with my look px12 jibs, but they didn't relese in the air, they liked to die on perfect landing, first time they died; i did a hand drag landed a bit of and the back " boner peice" smashed into a bunch of peices and ripped out of the ski a bit, the second time, I landed an off axis 3, landed a little on one side, skied off for two seconds and the bindings "boner piece" snapped forward, and I fell on my ski requiring me to get stitches, I have pics on my profile
they don't hold on, so you crank them down. then when you land long/short spinng they hatter into pieces. new a new idea for bindings outside of px, fd, fks, geze - the pivots have actually held on.
word i live my axials. the only time i have trouble with mine is when the snow sticks to the shitty leather on back my spks. maybe give a quarter turn to the heel/toe
If they are the axium style then of course they are gonna break they are a piece of shit. I have them on my carving skis for instructing and the way the breaks are made there are like two links instead of the usual one so makes them so weak.
Saying that I suggest if your having pre-release problems go get them torque tested by your shop, if they release too early all the time then they might not release at the right value, requiring an adjustment or warranty if they are way outside the range.
I suggest this for any STH12 or 14 with the Z toes, I always released out the toe finnally torque tested them I have to have one +0.5 and one +1 on the toes just for them to release at what they should be set at.
$20 is actually pretty cheap for new brakes... are you using brakes that are too wide and over hang the ski? Make sure they are the correct width.
And if you call the company and bitch them out, they will most likely not help you. Politely explain your frustration and it will get you much much further.
start going to a different shop to fix them. ive had this happen to me many times and i have never paid for a new set of brakes... but yea shit bindings for sure. get narrower brakes, i havent had this issue since i did that.
I had my rossi bindings break last year after I overshot a landing... landed hard and flat and the brake snapped off and fell on the ground in front of me... the binding mightve fucking exploded too.. i dont know, ski with broken brake flew off into the woods... the ski is currently still in the woods
today my friend had the same problem his ski kept flyin off mid lincoln loop his brake broke off an hour later and he's super pissed will rossi do anything?
