The only person who I will ever support with mashups is GirlTalk mainly because he came to my college and his concert was amazing with 5K drunk college kids.....besides that stop!

Haha yea, i'm forced to if i want a hot girl, in my town all the good looking girls go to the clubs, all the guidos go there, so i gotta stand out, wear ec headwear, and some girls like that.........besides the clubs, theres nothing where im at...sorta sucks

Its just to easy to make them with minimal equipment, so everyone does. There are some mashups that actually show musical ability, or at least some hard work and though. but more often then not some jack ass kid took some cool verses and threw them on a song that didnt fit the verses flow at all, so most mash mash ups are to ears like shit is to your mouth

yea, well the concert was really fun, it probably sucked but when alcohol is consumed by lots of college kids, it was pretty fun, and then i remember going back to my room, and buying his album for 1 cent with the pay your own price haha

Definetely gonna look up hathbanger in the am, never heard of him bc im not a huge fan of mashups but will look him up, thanks!

oooh you just committed ns suicide.

to the op, mashups are completely new and developing style of music. while many/most are poorly made, a quality mashup can show as much musical talent and skill as playing the music. being a musician myself, i can honestly say a good mashup can and should be considered music.

I agree and disagree. I hate when dumb kids throw an acapella over a beat and think that they are the next girl talk. But when i come across a quality, well put together mash up, i love it.

it depends on the songs being mashed up. If i hear another "kids" mash up, i'm probably put my head through a wall. But if it's catchy, it's fun. Problem is, lately mash ups have been flooding the music scene. Since I joined NS last fall, i know the number of mash ups on my itunes has grown EXPONENTIALLY. So basically It's getting harder and harder to find ones I like.

i disagree. mash-ups sometimes can ruin songs, but sometimes it can be an interesting variation on a song. Remixes are basically the same thing, and they sometimes can ruin a song too.
