Pettit's not using the new bents

if you look at jacob westers blog, jacobwester.com you'll see some pictures of his current trip to japan, one thing that stuck me was that sean pettit, who almost exclusively has used the bents in the past, seems to be using next years obsetheds in every picture, does this mean the skis are that different from their previous models?

next years seths are 117 underfoot with tip rocker like helbents and then a more normal tail with i believe some slight rocker?

Bents - 132mm wide underfoot, less rocker then before.

Seth - 117mm under foot, pontoon tip rocker, very slight tail rocker, slight taper in the tips, more tapered design overall.

all the k2 skis will have rocker including all of their all mtn none twin tip skis, calling it catchfree technology, which some of their womens skis had this year

no they have no tail rocker and a stiffer tail. seth pretty much made a really big mountain oriented ski so i dont know why pettit would be using it in backcountry for the kind of stuff he likes to ski

HellBents have the same massive tip and tail rocker as the current skis. obSETHed have pontoon/hellbent tip rocker (aka Powder Rocker) and (All-Terrain Rocker) in the tail. It is still way more than the current ski has, so don't be fooled with people saying it is a flat tail. Tail height is increased too for switch landings and skiing.

All companies create a sample size for each model. Sample size was 179 in HellBents. Pettit really likes the 169cm, so we were racing to get some made for him.

Nope. The twin tips have:

Powder Rocker (HellBent style), All-Terrain Rocker (similar to the current Kung Fujas ) or JIB Rocker ( all the new park sticks)

Catch Free is reserved for developing skiers.

yehah i know about the jib rocker and the all terrain rocker, i was just talking about the catchfree which the sweet luvs had on it this year. I was talking to our k2 rep the other day when he dropped off the new brewskis, pretty sick. I think he said the apache line this year will be called something completely different. and its going to be rockered, and he was talkign about the jib rocker for the park twins next year

He shouldn't be limited to only riding hellbents, the new obSethed are going to be sick chrarging skis.
New obSETHed: Bigger underfoot, same tip rocker as current hellbents, and I think regular camber from underfoot through tail. Also stiffer for charging shit and big drops.
The new hellbents are just wider I think...which is going to be crazy and dope.

My 2011 Obsethed Review

I came to the demo wanting to try a variety of skis, with differing rocker and flex patterns, so I came to the Obsethed for the super soft ski. Honestly going in I had low expectations, and was blown away. First of all this ski is scary soft, especially in the tip, and almost the entire ski is rockered. However, it's stable and fun. The rocker did chatter on groomers, but in off-piste snow it was pretty good, as long as I stayed out of the backseat. All turn types were possible, and the Obsethed was excellent in softer snow. This is too soft for a daily driver, but it was a good ski, including the graphics. I think this is what the S7 intended to be.
