Really, you got hit in the face and your mouthguard didn't stop you from getting a concussion? No shit man. Anyways, mouthguards do protect you from a concussion when your mouth gets slammed shut. Like I said before, 1 uppercut punch in a boxing ring without a mouthguard would knock somebody out cold, because it stops your jaw from railing your upper teeth. Think about it like 2 pool balls, when the moving one hits the one sitting still, the first ball stops and the second one picks up all of its kinetic energy. If you put rubber between the two, the effect would be much smaller. It is just like that, except your brain is in the middle of the second ball.

Hey fucko, please shut your mouth before you open it again, instead of using flawed logic why don't you help yourself to some fucking research on google scholar and you will see there isn't a statistically significant difference in the number of concussions between mouth guard wearers and non mouthguard wears. Mouth guard companies just promoted this based on anecdotal evidence. But since actual research probably doesn't have an impact on you, here is a new story on it:

I learned this the hard-way this weekend. I was skiing at a ghetto hill doing their a-frame rail, didn't scope it out as I had hit it about 100 times before. Low and behold on the down part of the rail was a huge un-waxed spot. I went face first into the rail, completely chipped my tooth in half and bit-through my tongue, I'll wear a mouthguard from now on.

ha thanks nah its my brother,he put it up on his blog.Yeah you can buy these ski helmets

check it out at www.ruroc.com ,they also sort out helmets for F1 pit crews which are fire retardant.

yeh i think i might start wearing a mouth guard. i always seem to knee myself. like in February i came off a c rail  switch and there was some bumpy's and my knees gave out and i was in ball form and i kneed myself in teh jaw and it still hurts.

Everyone saying that mouthguards don't prevent concussions is a fucking retard.

That said, OP should get invisalign. I got my teef messed up in a fight, and had to get invisalign, and it's heaps better than braces.
