What length of Rockered ski?

I ski 177cm park skis and 181cm all mountain/dusting of pow skis.  Everyone tells me you need to go longer with rockered skis but rocker adds to the lenght anyway doesn't it?  I'm 5'11'' and 150 pounds.  What length would be good? 

Also does anyone know why this years jjs have a rough surface on the topsheet?

The reason that people would be telling you to go with a longer length of rockered ski is because there will be a shorter running surface (length of the ski that is touching the snow) because of the lift of the rocker. Therefore you will have the effect of a shorter ski in some aspects, such as stability on hardpack. Also, I don't believe that rocker adds length to the ski.

Now for what legth you should get, from personal expirience, I got 181s of the Moment reno rockers (I'm about the same height and weight as you). I'm lovin mine, so somewhere around there or maybe even longer, considering what you're already riding.

it also depends what you want them for, and how much rocker they have. Park Rocker? All Mountain? Pow Skis? Charging? Tree Skiing?

good point. im 6 ft and have 179 ll2 and i would love to have 189's. i always hear and agree with go longer than you think.

It will be mainly a pow ski.  Gonna hae a waist for at least 105.  Not sure on how much rocker yet.

im 5'10 165 and i got my kung fujas in 169 and wish i would have got longer. the 179 were huge though especially compared to my 179 invaders. dont know if that helps at all

youve really got to go and size some up in person. i have both 179 Hellbents. and 189 LL2s. they are almost the exact same length. except the LL2s dont have a traditional tail. as apposed to a turned up tail, they rely almost entirely on the rocker.

i dont know if i would call it absurd. lol but yes, it is a thing of its own. its unique. hahah

some people may think that there is a bunch of overlap there in my quiver. but that couldnt be farther than true. the 3 stage rocker makes them ski significantly different. along with the fact that they are absolute 2X4s compared to the bents. (also about 10mm skiinier underfoot)
