The east coast can NOT handle snow

granted we are getting a decent amount of snow but for real, why does everyone bug the fuck out? its a wednesday and i have business to take care of haha.  everything is closed, they act like snow is just a big inconvience and life stops until you can see grass again. destroy the shit out of roads. we get snow for one full day and the entire week is fucked up. get ahold of yourself east coast. its just snow, not like we just had a fuckin earthquake or some shit that actually messes things up.
that is all.

yea I live in South PA and everything is shut down here- dc and va are just totally fucked though because they dont have the equipment to remove snow fast enough- we just got done cleaning up from saturday and then this hit- there is no where to put the snow

are you serious? Upstate New York knows how to handle snow for sure. You pussies in Maryland get a foot and everything shuts down, we get a foot and nothing happens. MAYBE the schools will get an hour delay.

yeah i live an hour north of the city. we handle snow like pros. our schools canceled school for today like right after school yesterday. school might be canceled tomorrow, most likely a two hour delay at least.
plows are on the move, salts down. my ski shop was up and running today. nothing is shut down

Northern Kentucky here... We got around 10 inches. People are calling it the white death, snowpocalypse, snowmageddon, etc.. We got the majority of it yesterday and my school was the only one open between Lexington and Dayton. About 4 more inches last night and school is closed off.  It's just fucking snow, there's no reason to freak out...

I would laugh, but I am from Seattle, and if you can remember a year ago, we had some serious problems. Although Seattle is built on steep hills which may contribute. I think this video is from Portland a few years back, but it pretty much portrays lowland snow in the PNW.







I am very jealous of the snow you are receiving though, the PNW is being absolutely raped by El Nino... NASA is projecting a La Nina for next year though and they called this El Nino, so hopefully that will make up for this years inconvenience.

Yeah, but we also make fun of Toronto too. In fact, Rick Mercer coined the phrase 'Torontarded'. They get almost 10cm of snow in one day and they almost completely shut down the city. But if you were to look outside you could see a fat kid in a t-shirt walking a dog.

Seriously, a gust of wind blows in causing -15C temps with windchill and they claim it's the coldest day ever. A Manitoban sent a letter to the Weather Network which subtly called them whining pussies(at least that would be my intention). That brightened my day while I went to go ski in -22C temps.

yeah but that would have been avoided with AWD cars, snow tires and not dumb asses behind the wheels. i thought it was common sense to have a set of snow tires or at least all weather tires if you live where it snows. and if not, to not drive when it does snow. then again the would wouldn't be as much fun without it being populated with idiots.

Its really not that bad.

I was in London (England) last December and it snowed about 6 inches... the entire city shut down and lost like $1 billion because nobody could go to work... no buses, no tube, no taxis... shit sucked.

thats probably because they have a greater population that uses public transportation.
i can see schools and shit closing down cause of safety issues but there is no reason for MACS sandwhich shop to be closed. wtf.

I've lived in Utah all my life and I think theres has been 1, maybe 2 snow days that I can ever remember happening. Only one I really remember it snowed like 4 feet in a couple days down in the valley, like '92 or '93 or so.

worst winter ever in northern new england. worst. winter. ever.

i see grass all over the place and every time i hear about the east coast getting snow, its southern and so fucking annoying. we havent had snow accumulate up to an inch since around december here in the middle of vermont.

i believe it.  when i go snowmobilling in quebec and it snows i see cannucks out there flying around sideways and shit on the roads in like thier UPS trucks hahaha


and you should rephrase your original post to include rain. i cant tell you how many times i've been on someones bumper because they go 25 when its raining out like its a fucking snowstorm or hurricane or something. ITS WATER. JUST FUCKING GOOOOOOOO....
