Skateboarding shots

My skis are in the shop at the moment having a bit of work done to them, and since Vancouver hasn't really had a winter this year, (fuck El Nino,) I decided to get down to the local park and shoot some skating.

Shot for about an hour, here's my favorite shot, a Front 180 over the second biggest set in the park.

I don't really know how to shoot skating and this is only the second time I have ever done it, any tips and advice would be very helpful.

The lurkers in the background are distracting. The skater seems a tad dark but a pretty good shot for not really shooting skating. I like the angle and timing too.

Come to Van! Never ending fall/early spring conditions have been hanging around alllll winter long.
