Urgent help needed - dulling edges

ok i am dulling my edges as we speak with a sanding block.... how dull do i make em?
 and i am planning on keeping the tips sharp... is that legit or not?

only dull underfoot, you want sharp edges at the nose and tail of your ski so you can carve still

just a few quick scrapes. you're not trying to completely round them, just detune them

You could just hit rails for a day and have them detuned naturally.

you dont need to do it that much, and only dull them underfoot

you want sharp tips and tails so you can still ski
and when you dull them underfoot, only dull them so that your fingernail doesn catch when you slide your fingernail over the edge
if you catch on boxes, dull them somemore!

watch out for the tips if you have rocker though, you dont want them too sharp or they will catch

That's kind of the beauty of the sanding sponge.  You can take off a little at a time while you're skiing them to get it right.  It is tougher to do it with a hard sanding block ftw.

thanks people.... i was all ready to make a nice curve on my ski cause thats how everyone refers to them (rolled over) i didn't do it that much anyways
