If anyone wants to help build a small jump today in DC, a buddy and I are going to dick around with it.  Any suggestions on location would be appreciated.  My thought is on the grassy hill next to the Rock Creek Parkway at Calvert.

ya my cousins used to attend school in Gaithersburg (outside DC) and they used to have the day off of scholl if there was only a few inches on the ground. They would even send kids home early at the prospect of more than 3 inches.

exorcist rail is one of the most burly rails i have ever seen. really steep, real fast. There is a column that is very very close to the rail, you would have to switch up around it to clean it, which would be close to impossible. I'd kill to be back home now, maine has shit for snow now. So much virgin urban in DC too, its unreal

ok ski_dc and the rest of ya. here they are, the product of 4hrs and a lot of walking.  the booter didnt materialize because of lack of shovels, they're about as easy to find right now as a cheap rose on valentine's day.  hope you all like, possibly more to come, we scoped a lot of stuff tonight

A better setup would have been helpful.  We were shooting with my Cannon SD880-IS point and shoot.  The 1600 ISO made them really grainy but I couldn't bump it down and use the flash for a couple reasons.  It was snowing fairly hard and the flash was picking up every single flake; second, with the flash, the camera only takes a shot every second or so in continuous dive mode.  Tragic, cause it really would have brightened up the foreground.

The issue with the memorial pics was backlighting.  We were shooting from under a bridge into a bright-ish sky.
