hey

SOME WORDS IN ADVANCE
-------------------------------------------------
this thing jumped to my mind when i watched the superbowl. idk if it had been in the US-signal, but the german broadcast (which had no advertisements, just sideline footage and interviews to fill the pauses) brought an interview with a neurologist. she showed a study of pro footbal players after their careers as players. the point was, that ex-pros have a higher chance of getting dementia.
it was something like
+20 % in the age group between 30-50
+33 % in the age group 50+

ACTUAL STORY
-------------------------------------------------
so i was wondering if this could also be an issue for skiers. in general dont crash very often. but i easily see stars 4-5 times a season. 5 years ago i overshot a corner and was blacked out for ~1 hour. 3 years ago i overshot another guinea pig try and i was blacked out for 2 minutes or so.
more detail on my skiing: pretty much only kickers between 30 and 75 ft. same with pow kickers. rails about 20 % of the time. wearing a helmet all the time. always a straight run at first to get the speed right. never tried a new flip on a regular park jump.
so what do you think? will we all be blunt old fuckers in 50 years? i felt so sad when they showed the story of that guy that had been in one of the first SBs and now cannot even recognize pictures of him from that day.
