I know that there aren't a lot of northern Idaho skiers in this forum, but I am going to post this anyways. It is a new competition and it is not only for skiers and snowboarders. It is for photographers too!
It happens to be on Presidents weekend, so a road trip might be the way to go.
One feature, 10 photographers, 50 riders, 2.5 hours, 3 cash prizes…
Description: Riders and photographers will pay $10 per person to enter. Riders will session a single feature (the wall ride) for a photo competition in the Terrain Park. We will provide lighting under the wall and around the wall to add creativity to the hit. Photographers will shoot as many pictures of as many riders as they choose. Only photographers who have entered and signed releases can enter the area roped around the hit. Following the competition, photographers can submit up to 10 photographs which will be displayed in a photo album on Facebook. The public will have 1 week to vote by “liking” a photograph. There will be 3 prizes awarded…The photographer and rider in the photo with the most “likes” on Facebook will each receive 1/3 of the entry fees. The third prize (1/3 of the entry fees) will be a “best hit” prize awarded the night of the event to the rider with the best, single hit…chosen by the other riders.
Schweitzer will retain rights to all photos submitted to the competition for marketing purposes.
Date: Saturday, February 13
Time: 4pm – 6:30pm. Riders will vote on best trick at 6:30pm by ballots submitted to the park shack. The best trick winner will be announced at 7pm.
Photographers will have 1 week (Saturday, Feb 20th, 10am) to submit their top 10 photos to the Activity Center via CD. We will then post them on our Facebook page and they will be up for voting for 1 week. Saturday, Feb 27th at 10am we will count all the votes and determine the winners.
