Pastrana did something a while back called a hangover/rollover or something like that, where the chute hangs over the edge of the cliff and you essentially front flip off the cliff and hope that the chute fills fast enough.

depends on how high or low he was on the cliff, but chances are he was lower than high since he was BASE jumping

yea, repel the person down attached to the rope, bring extra attacher thingys and then clamp the guy onto him and pull him up

cant get a helicopter that close to a ledge. only options are

1. send it

2. climb up to get him, rappel down.

3. rappel down from top of cliff and continue to rappel down.

High angle rescue = rappel from top, always. heli would be impossible and climb up from bottom would be a bad idea.
