If you go during the day on the east coast like NJ it softens up but the number one reason why there is no progression at night is because of the ice. Fun Fact : dont try new shit at night.

ice is not hard to ski on. you just dont have the right skis. or you have a hard time making a half way decent turn.

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he's not concerned about making turns... i think it's the rock solid landings that are half chewed to shit and super sketchy, if i had to guess
