I just got to watch slope finals on espn.com for x games 14. I must say definately a crazy competition. It would be close to impossible to be a judge, everyone was throwing crazy runs down.
However I'm really curious towards the criteria in which the judges actually score the competitiors runs. I think it would be really cool if we knew exactly how they judged tricks in terms of degree of difficulty, style and the difficulty of the feature the skiers are hitting. It would really make the comp more interesting for people who have a great knowledge of the sport.
To my actual point and really the whole entire point of this thread. I AM SICK OF SEEING MUTE GRABS! Bobby Brown is a really good skier, but in his winning run he grabbed mute off every single jump. I think there should really be a rule that if you do the same grab twice in your run the grab shouldn't count towards the score of that particular trick. I mean there are like twenty different grabs you can do on skis and all we are seeing in a winning run in one. That isn't right to me. Hatviet although not quite as difficult of a run threw tricks with a tail, mute and then double mute.
Sick comp but iunno variety needs to be a way bigger part of it
