Sliding rails??

soo where getting some snow friday&saturday about 30 inches at the most and 12 at the least. and theres this rail at our school . flat down flat down flat . it doesnt slide very well and im curious if thers anything i can use besides some wax to get it to slide better?

What's the rail made out of? It it's aluminum just give up.

public schools get alot of the taxes where i live...lol

if ther are alumminum rails can u make them slide with oil or candle wax or snow or is it just not gonna happen

Take my advice. If it's aluminum do NOT slide it. Trust me many skiers have learned this lesson for you.

aluminum is a very soft metal compared to the steel edges that your skis have. what usually happens is that your edges will dig in, causing you to to go flying and die.

alright haha thanks.

Hopefully its metal or at least some rails or at the school. this may be a dumb ? but how am i able to tell metal from alluminum

take a hammer or anything metal (the thin side of a mil bastard file would work super well) and hit the rail, if it bends/dents then i would question it, if you kill your hand and it does nothing, then you're good

why are you worried about hitting your school rail when you're getting 12-40 inches?

Thanks alot !

i'm also wondering as we have to make a drop in ramp and a little kicker . Is pouring water on it the most effective way to make the snow hard packed aside from packing it down with shovels?

probably because the area thats getting all the snow is flat, so no pow pow days.

and yea if you need to get speed thats what you do, and yea i find packing a jump then watering it down, letting it freeze then adding light snow works the best. do you have any pics of the rail and where its located? that might help address what exactly you need to do

the nearest mt. is 2 hours away and i just went last weekend i wanna get some urban in . its a first for me. im going to tremblaunt presidents day weekend if anyone else going let me know i wanna do some filming too.

Yeah i'll get  apic and post it . its 3 of the same rails next to each other about 5 ft apart . ill put up a pic soon
