To Everyone Who Owns Live Life 2s/One Lifes

I am 6"1', 170 pounds, and I was wondering what size to get. I am very poor, so I want to use these skis as long as I possibly can. At maximum, I will probably get to 6"2', 180-190 pounds. This will be primarily my powder ski, but skiing park and hard pack in the afternoon is also important. So Newschoolers, I have some questions:

1. What size is right for me? 189 seems like the obvious choice, because of my height and the fact that the rocker takes away from the "length" of the ski. However, 179 seems great for the park and I have a potential opportunity to get 179s on the cheap cheap. Would 179 be too short for me?

2. Dumb Question I know, but the Live Life 2's are physically the same ski as the One life correct?

I'm 6'3" and heavier than you.  I would definitely go with the 189's.  I'm rocking 179 Fujatives in the park/beater skis and my 189 LL2's don't feel that much bigger.  They are wider, but it doesn't take much to get used to at all.  Mount em' center or close to it and you will have no issues at all.

Also, I'm pretty sure the LL2's and the One Life's are the same (different graphics of course), however I've heard the One Life's maybe have a softer base (but don't quote me on that)?

Thanks guys. Someone just told me that using One Lifes on rails fucks the edges after a while? Is this true?

I'm 6'2" and ski the 189's, get the 189's no question for you. I've heard this year's One Life has camber underfoot, which is sweet because that's the only thing I would change about mine, so go for this year's if you have the option. And durability, I've seen the posts lately about edges and rails and whatnot but mine are holding up beyond fantastic, they almost still look new. If this year's have a softer base that might worry me a little, but my LL2 bases seems pretty close to indestructible thus far.

any skiing on rails will eventually mess up the edges...

get the 189's they will be perfect for you...I'm like 5'6" and I have the 179's but I've demoed 189's and could shred just fine.

They ski VERY short. I'm 5'8" and the 189cm is a quick, maneuverable ski for me. Given your height, I'd go with the longer length.

the one life has more rocker than the LL2 and it has camber underfoot. I've had bot and the One Life's are way better. the construction on this year's skis seems more durable and lighter too

you should ride the 189 for sure, they ski like a 150 or shorter
