after a day of skiing yesterday i took of my skis and one of the brakes literally just fell off, question here is would it be fine to ski it with no brake until i get a new one. nothing big just hitting a couple jibs.
yeah im not going to a hill, just an urban setup, i dont care about the fact that they will get away from me, as long as it wont affect the performance.
Have the same problem... one of my breaks is gone. Doesn't affect me performance wise, but if your ski ever does come off you would be surprised how fast it can get away from you.
i have some crappy salomon bindings and my brake assembly fell out this weekend and i had to jam it back in and put my foot on top for my foot to not wiggle in my heel piece. if you're just doing urban and you don't feel a major difference then it's probably not a huge deal.
yeah, for most bindings the brakes also double for a platform for your boot, so without the brake your foot is lower than it should be and will probably release improperly (depending on the binding it could be a pre-release, or it might not release when it should). It can be done, but it tends to make your boot wiggle around a lot.
Someone mentioned that it can sometimes affect the bindings function, but it could also affect warranty, as it's not "properly assembled", and could void it should a plate crack or something like that.
