Living in a dorm with someone who snors like crazy..

seriously it's fucking brutal ... i haven't had a full nights sleep in three weeks...i tried ear plugs .. his snores cut through them still ...... does anyone have any experience here .. ? it's seriously driving me insane .. i've talked to him about it and can't really do too much more ...

im a mad light sleeper. can here my mom walking around upstairs every morning. when i wake up i just grab a pillow and have taught myself to sleep having a pillow on both sides of my ears.

Really, there is nothing your roommate can do cause he can't control whether or not he snores. Gotta figure out something that works. I turn a TV on really low and watch that and let it run until after I am asleep (use the sleep function) it is a different noise that can offset it. But I can sleep through a damn bomb blast probably so things that work for me may not work for you.

Lol. not that i think its funny but ive been there. i shared a room in a ski house for a whole season with someone who snored so loud i wanted to kill myself. there were times where i would make myself have a few drinks or take Tylenol PM just to sleep through it. it sucks. there really is nothing you can do.

ya i'm a pretty light sleeper, the best i've found so far is getting reall high before i go to bed...even then he can still manage to wake me up ... only 2 more months of school ....

Dude, i have a friend that is the loudest snorer you can possibly imagine.  He lives with his gf and somehow through some gliche in nature she sleeps peacefully next to him without a care in the world every night.

I feel so bad for you bro.

Haha sounds like you are living with me.  My sinuses are constantly fucked so im sure I snore a shit ton.  Currently all the clothes that I own are in a dirty pile. I have about 8 empty beer/ soda cans on my desk and I haven't showered in like 3 days.  My room mates must hate me haha

Just wake his ass up every time he snores and tell him to try different shit. He probably has sleep apnea, there are a handful of products out there, something that pulls the jaw forward, different sleeping positions and shit.

I can't stand when people snore so I make their life as difficult as possible and try to make them try different shit. I would just get a broomstick by your bed and every time he wakes you up smash his fucking back with that stick. A few of those nights and he will get his act together, or kick your ass, either way you are getting results.

my roomate snores like crazy too. especially when he was sick it wasintolerable. i wouldnt be able to sleep till like 3 every night it sucked. Now when he snores i just listen to music. try downloading "the sounds of nature" albums....im tellig you its so relaxing and you'll fall asleep in no time...also, pound a couple of beers right before bed works well too.

dude i feel your pain.  last year my roommate was a 280lbs Samoan guy who snored louder than a bus, farted every 5 minutes, ordered a pizza every afternoon and got mcdonalds every night at 2am.  he left all the garbage on the floor of our tiny res room and chewed louder than a dog when he ate his mcdonalds (while i was trying to sleep), and he any food i had around my desk.  i found the best way to deal with it was just mind over matter.    just take a deep breath and try to forget about it,,,   or make sure you fall asleep before him    lol.

i use to snor like crazy but then i got my adnoids and tonsils out and I dont snor at all anymore, maybe suggest this to him because now I can breath much better and my sleep is much more enjoyable

My roommate was a 5'9" 290lb music major.  He would snore every night so loud it was rediculous, he got nasal strips and those didnt help.  I learned to sleep with my ipod on with skull candy ink'd head phones, it cut his snoring out plus i could fall asleep to music or comedy.  But i would still wake up in the middle of the night to him snoring like all fat people do.  I then learned to throw stuff at him to wake him up or clap and try and fall asleep before he did.  Everytime i would complain about it all he would say was get over it, so i liked to play some pranks on him for a little revenge.

my roomate stays up really late playing video games a lot, and when he does it i usually sit in my bed with my ipod and play some jon mayer or something relaxing to fall asleep.  plus my ipod has some thing where it shuts off if you dont touch it for an hour or something like that, so i just put it on with my blankets over my face till i fall asleep.  maybe try that?

my old roommate bitched at me for snoring, he drank my redbull and beer so i told him fo fuck off. then he decided to pass out on my bed so i called him a certain n word and he moved out, so call him some semi offensive name and youll get a single!!!! hes olny half black too

try putting a fan on for white noise? i llove sleeping to a fan. and maybe he can try sleeping on his stomach or something? i dono. my roommate freshman year snored a lot but he was cool about it he just told me to shove him till he stopped snoring if he did. once i even tried clamping his nose and then he woke up with me holding his nose between two fingers, staring him in the face haha it was so weird

Just while we are on the subject of room mates, mine has anger manegment problems. Somebody told him to clean his room so he punched a hole straight through my wall. Now when it rains or snows my room gets wet. Ill post pics when my comps decides it wants to work again.

I snore too and my girl had the same problem with me. We tried a lot of things but I seem to snore a shit load worse when I'm laying on my back. So if he starts snoring and he's laying on his back give him a kick to his side, that might help a bit man. Other then that, try to get to sleep before him haha.
