Ok, I can only tell you how much material you need in metric, as I'm Canadian and unfamiliar with how much yards you need for a sweater.
Materials:
2 meters of sweatshirt fabric. That's literally what it's called.
0.5 meters of ribbing
If you're doing a design with more than 1 colour, try to use your best judgement in how much fabric you need, and remember it's better to get a bit more than less in case you make a mistake. If you're still unsure, show your design to an employee and they would likely be able to tell you how much you need.
I highly recommend getting a pattern pack as I do for everyone if you're a novice sewer. It'll help you totally avoid the possibility of your sweater becoming a Frankensweater. Look through the cataloging book until you find a hooded sweater design, find it's indexing number and pull out the appropriate pack from the cabinet.
