There is no Nevada regional but I thought you eastern Californian's could provide some input.
Got a job offer in Reno for an engine crew this summer but looking at making a more permanent move from Oregon with graduation in june (majoring in Forestry). Just wanted to get some insight into what Reno is like as far as skiing and other recreation goes.
Positives/negatives of the city, skiing, mt. biking, backpacking, and all that fun stuff.

I moved to reno from washington just for a few months to ski but i can tell you reno isnt bad. The best thing about it, is how close it is to tahoe. Within an hour you can get to most of the resorts on the north shore. The city is kinda sleezy but the further south you get, the nicer it gets. Galena is really nice. Lots of sunshine in the area, if thats what you are into. My biggest advice if you move is DO NOT SPEED ON 80. NHP has someone pulled over everytime i hit 80. Actually it seems like there is always someone pulled over on the 395 too. I dont know what it is about this place, but highway patrol are seriously EVERYWHERE.
All times are Eastern (-5)
