K2 Revival

Ok here's the deal...I got a pair of 2010 Armada AR6s for Christmas. While I was shredding, the top sheet peeled real bad, and I sent them back to Armada and they gave me a new pair. So, I need your opinion NS. I think I want to sell the new pair I got and what till next year and get the K2 Revival. Good idea or bad? And also, if anyone knows how much the revivals are going to be when they come out let me know cause I'm only going to spend the money I get from the AR6s, if I sell them.

my gues for price would be in and around 500 bucks since thats where most higher end park skis lie.. think alpha 2 high end rockered park ski is about 550 and you will be lucky to get 400 selling your ar6s so it wouldnt cover the cost.
what length are the ar6s? i got a homie lookin for a deal on the 181s let me know haha
if your only doing this cuz you dont want your armada to fall apart again then forget it becuase armada is typicly pretty solid skis and when something does go wrong they get it right in a hurry

The Revival is pretty sweet, I skied on it a few weeks ago.  But it's definitely not as poppy as an AR6 given that it is flat underfoot with early rise tip and tail.  If you liked how the AR6 felt, I would put your money towards the AR7, that ski is going to straight up kill it.

is it a replacement of the extreme? i didnt see the extreme in the sia coverage. kinda werid that theyd ditch the extreme after its second year. seems like it was a pretty solid ski too.

im pretty sure the ne updated silencer is replacing the extreme, cuz its sidwall construction and the only park ski without rocker in k2 line,

Every ski in the 10/11 K2 line up is different (on some level) for next year.  Only three adult skis in the entire line up will be traditional camber- the Backup, She'sBack, and First Luv.  Even the system skis will have some amount of early rise.

The Silencer is the replacement to the Extreme- 118/85/109, woodcore, sidewall, carbon stringers, and "all-terrain rocker" which is basically an early rise tip.

i love my ar6s now, but im feeling like trying something different...do you think the halos will be a better ski than the ar7?

I don't think the Halos or Alpha 1s will be better as an all mountain ski; they are definitely more designed as a park instrument.  I think Halos would make a better complement for your AR6 rather than a replacement for it.  But it depends how you have your AR6 set up.  If all you do is park, then the Halo will be a better ski.  But as an all-around set up, I think the AR7 will still be better.

well i ski almost all park (i ski in PA), but ill go out for a couple runs every now and them. i will go out especially when we get a little powder, but the conditions are usually slushy and shitty... or icy, which all park skis are terrible on.

so yes, i pretty much ski all park. the rocker just sounds like a lot of fun, combined with the taper, and the 50/50 sidewall (which now the ar7 will have 60/40)

i asked sean jordan how the revival was and he said its sick but its noy symetrical. a good symetrical park ski that is wide and has rocker is the domain. it has a 90mm underfoot which isnt that bad. i demoed a pair and i ski the east at big boulder park and i loved them.

Sean is definitely loving that DOMAIN. Collin COllins has been shredding that Revival and is super hyped on it. Revival is going to be a bit stiffer than the softer flex of the DOMAIN.

ive been riding the revivals for about 3 months now and they definitely have they're pros and cons.

im 5'11", about 165lbs, have the 179cm, andvanced skier, mounted dead center.

Pros: outrageously fun and easy to butter and pivot due to the mix of zero camber and rocker. also they have a nice mid flex, not too buttery.

Cons: the only thing that i dont like about the ski is the lack of pop. i was just testing the pop out by like popping off the tails on a groomer. i really noticed a difference from past skis that ive had.

i tested the revival and the domain out both this spring, both are pretty fun skis. If you're looking for a straight park slayer go with the domain, imo it beat out just about all others that i tried. Revival rips in park but still has enough waist width to rip around in trees and moguls/crud. Don't know what all these fools are talkin about with rocker park skis losing pop. both skis were snappy and poppy, seany j rips the shit outa them. Def. buyin some domains next year!

yea but the pop isnt the same as something like a salomon suspect. but the domain is a great park ski. deffinitly a get. and if you have the extra money, get the revival too. they are both great in park and they will both rip.

k2 domains > k2 revival. i love rockered park skis, really enforces the idea that all the real pop comes from your leg muscles.

I skied the K2 Revival's on Mt.Hood last week and i really like the skis. the rocker that the Revivals have really makes the ski fun in the park. I would recommend the Revivals.

i think the press is going to be ill. 85 mill waist cap construction full jib rocker same dimensions as the old fujative. shits gonna be real light and poppy plus the softest of k2's park skis. anyone here have any reviews on em?

im interested to hear about the pop some more and the weight compared to the ar7.  these are the 2 skis i have narrowed my selection down to.  i looked up the revival and they weigh 4220g per pair @ 174 (thanks evo) but i cant find the weight for the ar7s

i think im leaning toward the revivals too. i want a little wider waist (had ar6s) and the rocker sounds interesting from all the reviews ive heard. plus the revival have a shorter turn radius than the ar7s

btw im 6' 180ish

I'm in the same spot with ar7 and revials.

Pros for the ar7 for me are that they are bomb proof.

Pros for the revival are that my local shop carries them and I like the idea of rocker.

So... Are the k2's bombproof like the ar7 and can I ski some all mnt. with them?

Armadas = bombproof

K2s = nukeproof

I went with Revivals in the same situation- hopefully it plays out.  I've had a few K2 park skis over the years and 2 pairs of AR6's.  I've loved both companies so so much- you really can't go wrong with either choice.
