Phil Casabon doubles?

Alright idk why i decided to make this thread, but what do you guys think are the chances of b-dog learning some dubs? how would you feel to see him give in and start throwing a couple?

Whatever the guy does i think he's steezy as hell, he skis his own way and thats pretty cool. i cant tell which would make me more happy, to see b-dog taking his smooth style into some dubs, or showing the world that steeze and sick grabs can still make one a super pro.

do you think b-dog will throw some dubs? if he does, would you be stoked to see it? or disappointed that everyone has to throw them now? discuss

i think if he would really make dub flatspins look awsome, im not really sure about any double corks though

i would probably have mixed feelings disappointment because he's doing them but happy for him if it progresses his career as a skier enabling him to be more successful and those will probably be the illyest dirt nasty dubs out there

i sadly think he is gonna have to start doing them. hard to tell though based on the fact that he placed 4th with no dubs. his sw 12s came a hundred times smoother and sicker than andreas's.

I was wayyy stoked that a run with no dubs did so well at X. That being said I expected a lil more out of him on rails, the shit he was doing in practice was nuts and it would've been sick to see in a comp run, but that 12 at the end was by far the steeeziest I've seen

I feel ya on your rail statement, if casabon threw in his switch up to switch 5050 on that dub his run would have been filthy (as oppose to dirty)

Idk I'm kindof glad he hasn't it shows that its more important to be unique and have good style than to just huck yourself off huge jumps and that you don't have to do doubles to be good.

i put B-Dog and Hornbeck of their own category, they both kill it without throwing any doubles. Without a doubt B-Dog had one of the best segments of the year in Refresh. Him not doing doubles did not take away from his segment what so ever. It shows that you don't have to be throwing dubs to be one of the best. I think he has been getting rewarded for that in competition as well.

I hope B-Dog never throws dubs and proves to everyone it is not needed to be one of the best. Style is just as much apart of skiing as technicality is, if not more and B-Dog and Hornbeck are both proving this by putting out banger segments without throwing doubles.

I've seen him throw doubles on a tramp so I guess he might think about them.
I don't see him hucking a double just to hop on the double train, he'll probably throw them slow with his usual dirty style. Maybe something unusual like a dub cork 10 japan would be his thing.

I think Jon did one in practice for the US open or the xgames a few years ago, not sure if it was kang or double rodeo, but it was pretty sick. Not sure if he did it in the comp either.

He could always go the route of pep and pollard and keep developing his style instead of developing what "needs to be" for the comps, but if he wants to podium at X doubles are the new standard.

^Not only did he get 4th, but he would have podiumed if he had stuck his run clean without the little messy things on some of his landings.

Why do you need Phil to do doubles? He'll ski however he wants to ski. Either way, Jossi is doing doubles and landing them like he never took off. If you want style with the big tricks look no further.

thats basically exactly what i said man. he skis exactly the way he wants too without conforming, and i think thats awesome. i'm not asking him to do some dubs, i'm just wondering how other people would feel if he started to. i personally love his skiing, if he starts doing dubs then thats cool, but otherwise hes still a favorite

that would be b-pauls kos entry. i think if he ever learned dubs than they would most likely resemble something like b-pauls because they are homies and have similar style from skiing togeather alot.

he will learn them over the summer i'm sure. he has to. regardless placing 4th in x games without any doubles really shows how good the kid really is.

of what I heard by a guy who rode with b-dog a few times, he's able to do them, he's been doing dub corks for a while.

My guess is that he wanted to get a good results with only his style, which he did. Being out of the box and still getting crazy results, I think this is what he wanted to prove.

yeaaa phil has tried dubs before, but thats because it seems thats what the younger generation of skiers want to see, but thats beyond the point. he's about style and keeping skiing to its realest, he would rather do every trick perfect with every grab before he has to go out and huck some dubs, there are so many tricks that have never been done with every grab and til dat point, dubs are just the next step for a bigger trick, not the next trick in his mind. I totally support phil and what he does and will never dis on him for not doing dubs! big ups to mi bredren!
