Women's Skiing= not enough media

Women need to be noticed and appreciated just as much as the men do in this sport. Slope and Pipe and becoming more progressive as the years go by. Guys are doing tricks that are completely insane and they get tons of media for it and i'm sure it feels so good to get noticed. Even though women's skiing hasn't YET progressed like the men. We still need to be appreciated, and not forgot about. There is no footage on NS or the web of day ONE WINTER X 14. This to me, is an issue. LET THE WOMEN BE JUST AS EQUAL in the MEDIA as MEN. C'mon industry let us know you still care about the females.

You must have missed the 3 features we did on women in the XGames, they are right up front mixed in with the guys stuff.

Matt walker once said, "I was afraid i was going to look back in midair and see her dead in the channel gap. I told her to stay behind me and whatever she does do not speed check." On her second hit, the girl skier did a mute 3 and didn't land. The picture turned out to be a 2 page ad for spyder.

Damn feminists.

They would never get the same amount of Media coverage. Due to there not being as many woman in the sport.

But they did get a lot of coverage over X games as posted above plus all was on TV just like the mens...

so, there are fewer girls that compete, and fewer girls that actually do anything, but they should garner equal media coverage? people want to see switch doubles or botched 180s?

to my recollection, girls get the same purse as guys in x games. that is gross over compensation.

plus ns and other outlets do give girls coverage, it's just not as interesting.

Nice alias, we all know youre a girl, which ruins your whole argument because you're obviously bias as fuck.


Women will get more media when they can start keeping up with the guys, because as of now, people would much rather watch/see the high level of mens skiing vs the non-progressive level of womans skiing.

ok, i am not being sexist, i am just explaining something to you

the only reason espn does x games is for media coverage, whichever sport will get the most views, it will be played the most.
people would rather watch a sw dub misty 12 than a sw 9
if girl skiiers were as good as gusy, they would no doubt get more coverage

the media is going to show what people are interested in. i would rather watch crazy perfect dubs then sw 7's
here is an example,
there is alot more mens basketball on tv than womens bball, simply because the men's games are alot more interesting, faster, and crazier to watch. it is not a question of different sex's, its a difference of skill

the media is not going to go out of its way to show something that not very many people will want to see, it does not make sense as a business.
yeah it would be cool to see MORE girl ski coverage, but seen as the ratio of girls to guys in our sport is about 1:20, there is going to be about 1:20 more guy ski coverage than girl ski coverage

False. As Chris pointed out, we covered all of the women's events at X, and did video interviews with Hudak and two with Kaya after they won. You obviously just didn't look hard enough for it, but given how much was going on last week with SIA and X-Games happening at the same time, it's understandable if you missed it.

I am a massive supporter of the girls and their skiing. Sure, they're not at the same level as the guys, and they'll all be the first to tell you that, but they bust their asses at every single competition. And at some of them, their events are scheduled after the men, and when that happens and all the guys go home to rest, myself and Shay from Freeskier are out there, sometimes in the freezing cold and rain (last winter's first Dew Tour stop and the previous year's WSI come to mind), showing our support for the girls.

girls and guys should compete togetether in the same contests! it would totally end all sexism. i guess it would be a little unfair, so maybe the girls could get a bit of a handicap or something? come on guys, let's do it, what do you say?!

uhhh i think its really up to us. if we wanted to we could go out and film and drop edits all day long. but the video section can go whole weeks without seeing a girls edit. thats rediculous. ultimately i think watching girls on smaller stuff is radder than watching us almost get eaten up on big x games style courses.
