jezzzz, they alluded to shawn having the #1 memorable moment in this years xgames...a 1620 should beat that any day.

no hate to snowboarders...but c'mon, skiers threw down so much harder!

im legit pissed..

skiing big air was revolutionary, snowboarding took backseat this year. even in pipe in my opinion!

(im kinda biased)

but why is shawn white so hyped??

because he has his own 22 ft pipe and training facility in the middle of Colorado back county ( built by Red Bull)

where do you want to start: his dominance in snowboard slopestyle and superpipe, his olympic gold (soon to be 2 unless something terrible happens to him), gold medals in both winter and summer x-games, the fact that he's been a pro snowboader since he was like 13, take your pick.
and of course Shaun White is going to get the #1 spot. His crash makes for a great replay, his helmet flying off is like watching Jake Browns shoes fly off, he came back to win gold legitly this year and thus giving him the 3-peat which nobody has done before.

it was a hell of a run tho all of those hits linked together. My question is why is rolland getting now credit ?he did three doubles two of them back to back ? two of them with grabs? rolland??????????? why aren't we talking about rolland?

how many doubles did sean do... i dont know and i dont care kevin rolland did 3 thats fucking crazy and how many of seans were grabbed id say 1 out of 1 as opposed to 2 out of 3. i dont care if he crashed in training he has his own pipe he probably crashes all the time. rolland changed his sport sean just did a new double

lol, fail. hes done runs with three doubles, all grabbed. i think he only did two at x, but they were both grabbed WELL.

that was last year. but yah pretty stupid i mean bobby threw down so hard and everything was still based on shaun bullshit. But i have to admit shaun does fucking kill it in the pipe double misty's are redic.

Tanner Hall had a three peat in super pipe from 06-08.   Shaun White is second rate compared to Travis Rice.   I personally dont like shaun white but gotta give him credit after his 60 minutes segment tonight.   Hes overcame alot of obstacles in his life with his heart defect and stuff.   He set his goals, worked hard and earned his place.

All with the same grab. Stalefish. Sure he's doing 3 doubles, but there are other guys doing 3 doubles a run, and doing more than one grab.

yeah rolland's two natural doubles with the mutes were fucking insane who knows if he got the grab on the last one but it looked like it atleast he was crossed up and reaching down for what looked like a mute. Rolland is a fucking beast!!!!

You continue to impress me with each response lately. Thank you for calling it like it is. Shaun may be over rated in terms of non-snow sports spectators and X-games commentators, however he is so under rated by NS. He kills it. I forget where I saw it but he has the potential to do a different double grabbed each hit on a 5-6 hit pipe. Not to mention on of his double in his run is switch for all you skateboarders out there you know how hard it it do tricks switch not to mention a double flip in a 22' pipe. He destroys, and he deserves it even if it may be taken a little far.

Also he had the highest airs going 2-3 feet higher on his doubles than most skiers.

plus after watching he grabbed stalefish for the first two and mute? or indy or something for the other. so some variety in his grabs as well.


not to take away from rolland, his run was amazing, and groundbreaking for skiers. it just made me really sad how few dubs were grabbed in the pipe last night.

who gives a fuck what the xgames thinks? any xgames postevent wrap up analysis should be disregarded and sources like ns should be used for actual commentary/analysis.

I thought the biggest story was nate holland winning the boadercross for the fifth time in a row and that received little to no coverage. how often does anyone in any sport win the major event 5 years in a row, especially in a race as unpredictable as boardercross/skiercross? the xgames, unfortnately overshadows all the cool stuff by its stars whether they deliver, shaun white, tanner hall, or not, simon dumont, travis rice, jon ollson.

I never said Shaun didn't kill it. He's good at pipe there is no denying that, its just that he does the same grab with literally every trick. There are other guys killing it just as hard, if not harder than him who are not getting nearly as much exposure. What about Danny Davis? Has NS even talked about him? He threw 3 doubles in his Grand Prix run and they all had different grabs.

So your telling me he tore it apart more than kevin rolland, who did three doubles in one run. Jossi's run ooooozzzzeeeedddd with style and xavier killed it as well. No way shaun white killed it more than the skiers did.

no. white is killing it hardest in sb superpipe and hes most consistent. thats why hes won 6 out of 7 events this year. Louie Vito and, maybe, scotty lago, might have what it takes to beat him out of everyone at the xgames and olympics, but they both had an off-night. vito finished last and lago got 5th or 6th. ergo, everyone talks about shaun white instead.

Kevin Pierce and Danny Davis both have what it takes to beat him (both have), but they're injured at the moment. Shaun White may be good but he isn't untouchable. And those guys can do more than one grab.

Lago didnt even make it to the finals and if Vito would have landed his 1440, I think shaun would have lost.   But the only two people who have the talent right now to be shaun white are Danny Davis and Kevin Pearce.   I firmly believe if Davis wasnt injured he would beat shaun white.   In the first dew tour interview, he said it will take 4 dub to take olympic gold and he was putting a solid three down in his run at the grand prix right before he was injured and got a higher score.   Kevin Pearce should have won gold last Xgames in super pipe over Shaun White.    KP def had the better run and because it was shaun white, he won, not fair but whatever.   I also think if Travis Rice put all his effort back into comps, he could easily beat shaun white.   But T-Rice loves making movies and riding back country to much too much.  
    As much as I more than anyone hate to admit, shaun out works every other snowboarder to get where his is.   He loves performing in comps and winning, he specifically trains for slope and superpipe.    Not many skiers or snowboarders specifically train for a single or 2 disciplines.   Kevin Rolland was training with the same type of stuff shaun was and he outdid every shier in pipe.   You didnt really see him or Xavier in to many film segments from the past winter.   Just my thoughts on this subject.   Hope you can see my perspective.

agreed, I did like that Sal gave a huge shout out to all the skiing events that are not in the Olympics, he totally called out the Olympics for having pipe snowboarding and not skiing.

At least Shawn white gets people interested in snow pipe. And for me the experience with people that know nothing about winter sports, when they see snowboard and skier pipe events they think the skiers have way more style and is more fun to watch. Skiing will have its day, then it will be like snowboarding and be all trendy and gay with kids from Arizona wearing Armada shit.

hes just so sexy and luscious. look at the way his hair shimmers and floats through the air when he takes off his helmet, complemented by his pale skin, monkey face, and lack of having a soul. he also has millions of $ which might contribute a tad to his gorgeous persona.
