In the ended. I skinned back along the ridge above dubh choire, hoping i could make a descent into cruinn choire. I'm not sure, why i bitched that plan as well. Maybe it was the snow on the south east face of carn aosda, what made me? and yes, the snow conditions were good.
I wasn't really sure, were i was going to head from the A93. So.. I crossed the road and made a short ascent up the, north west facing slope above the road and skinned into the allt coire fionn, hoping the snow would be good on sron na goaithe. But.. The conditions were horrible with some random pockets of wind slab, sitting on an icy layer.

Looking down the icy allt an dubh choire, toward the A93 and braemar hidden around one of them magic corners.

Checking back at my line on the south east face of carn aosda, from some were not so magical.
On the south west facing slope of sron na goaithe, the surface layer of the new deposited wind slab was cracking on the icy layer. And also in sheltered locations on south east aspect, were the snowpack is deeper, there were some crack on relatively low angled terrain.
Having a bit of fun cutting a small newly formed wind lip, on a sheltered south east aspect.
