well there was no real big name snowboarders there except for t rice and he fell during semi, same thing with slope style too. As much as i hate him white would dominate.
in all honesty, the skiing tricks just looked so much bigger, and were so much smoother than the boarder tricks. I preffer watching boarding for pipe, but the men skiing big air was so sick while I got bored of the border big air, and actually ended up turning it off a few minutes in.
i wouldnt say that ski big air pissed all over snowboarding big air... the kid that won snowboard big air did double corks 2 different ways. (backside and frontside) which technically in skiing terms he did and unnatural double cork. i know its different for boarders but its still fucking nuts. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4873682
do you guys know how hard it is to spin like that and then just come out of it like nothing? snowboarding isn't like skiing were you can just untuck your legs and slow the rotation, you pretty much have to land perfectly to even land at all
Well, T Rice didn't make it to the final, he got 15th in the slopstyle prelims and got 4th in the first semi heat in big air.. So he just wasn't good enough. He's probably the best all around snowboarder though.
^ you got me there i haven't been paying attention except for the finals but you got to admit that white would have made thing more interesting. Im going back to lurking before i get myself in more trouble pce
Is there a vid of Helgenson's winning dubs? He slayed in Black Winter, would like to see it. I agree that overall snowboard big air was awful other than the top few riders. Too bad T-Rice wasn't landing his stuff.
people give travis rice way too much credit. halldor killed it. ive watched his stuff for a few years now and knew it was only a matter of time till he made the big stage. and shaun white needs to go die. no one needs to win everything
granted the skiers fell on some reasonably easy stuff in slopestyle, and the conditions were fairly bad during snowboard slopestyle, but there were something like 9 runs with falls on them in a row, it got kinda boring.
