Bobby is the new face of freeskiing?

x games announcers need to get their heads out of the gutter. brown has a good bag of tricks, but really now? freeskiing has very different characteristics, as compared to snowboarding.

bottom line: the x games announcers don't know anything about freeskiing.

Mike D held it down pretty well in terms of saying what was up. they do know freeskiing, but they also want to make the competition more exiting.

ahahaha...Mike Douglas practically invented freeskiing.

I think what he meant was that Bobby Brown is going to be the new mainstream face of Freeskiing, like what Simon Dumont and Tanner Hall are right now.

you obviously dont know anything about freeskiing. seeing as though its clear you havent noticed that mike douglas, the godfather of freestyle skiing, is one of the annoucers.

mike D did a fine job with the commentary and pretty much all of his predictions about who places where were correct.

Elias rode straight onto the first rail feature during prelims and didn't even spin out of it...  I don't know how you could possibly say he's going to take over skiing when he can throw Double Corks, but doesn't even have basic rail tricks down.

Wow, that last run was impressive by Bobby, totally nailed the landings. Only thing I can put my finger on about Douglas' commentating is that he's biased towards other Salomon riders, it's very subtle, but it's the overall feeling I get. He's very good though and knows this sport well!

a lot of the reason for why the commentators/announcers may not describe things in ski jargon is because they are also appealing to a wider audience than just pure freestyle skiers. keep in mind that other people, i.e anyone involved in action sports, even snowboarders, or ski racers, or even the general public, may want to watch ski competitions just because its similar to what they do, or fundamentally just interesting to them

i wont hate.. but i will say that i dont agree.. i think they are both GREAT skiers however every skier has there own style and therefore no one can every replace someone in any way..

I think Bobby is a great face for freeskiing, and can't think of a better one.  he is def one of the nicest pro's I've ever met and have known, and he's not all gangsta and tall tees.  he's got a style everyone can enjoy (skier or random schmuck off the street), and he's got a long career ahead of him!!

yeah i see what you are saying, but i think that Henrik and Wallisch are good enough people that they will keep it steezy and not go crazy, even if they dont win

like the 3 realest skiiers right now, are Casabon, Wallisch and Henrik cause they are getting invited to all the big comps but still trying to keep is steezy!

Mike douglas = godfather of freeskiing, I think he knows what he's talking about. As for BBrown, he's 18, definitely see a huge amount of potential..

hes a really good competition skier, and maybe he will takeover in that era. However i personally like ski movies and i dont think he has much unique to bring to the filming field so he wont be in my eyes the face of freeskiing. However no hate because hes really killing it and proving he has his stuff down down!

yes elias rail section at x was below mediocre but if you watch winter of wells episode 9 you can see that hes a lot better on rails than he showed in eliminations, not awesome, but okay

Booby Brown got so good so fast, I remember watching one of his old sponsor me vids a few years ago, to see him go from that to double Xgames gold medals is crazy. super duper props to Bobby Brown.

not to put B Brown down in any way, But I think that Jossie equaly deservves to be portrayed as a "major ski figure" (as in simon or tanner) to the masses. Mike D put in a a lot of good words about him during his commentary, but I feel he was talking about B.B. in a much higher light in ways... to push his image.

Does anyone think that Mike D spoke so highly of bobby brown not only because he's an amazing skier, but also to push one of his fellow solomon riders into the mainstream light.... in ways to rep solomon.
