But really though, i would think they could wait 'til skier cross or whatever race jump they are using is over and push a big ass jump. But not the perfect JO jump just so he can Tornado and win or whatever. If it's txt to win then i don't give a fuck because I'm not watching anyway.
Watch the second snowboarder in the vid. He does a wicked slooow 3 but he twitch the board for the middle part. So simple but I think it looks soo steezy. I love when different parts of a spin are done at different speeds.
definately a shame he had to pull out. but why would he risk a season/career ending injury on a jump he doesnt feel comfortable on. Its not like he has anything to prove, and he is a bit older than some of the other guys (no offence) so knees etc may not be as strong on such a flat landing.
Sucks man, but if you're not feeling it, its a real smart move on your behalf not to push it, especially when way sicker events like JOSS are on the horizon!
Damn, thats too bad. Personally i didnt think the landing looked THAT flat but i definitely dont blame him for doing what he felt was necessary, still looking forward to JOSS bigtime.
I actually think Jon's taking the highroad on this one. The easy "pussy" option for him would be to say fuck it and do big air. For him to stand up to the event organizers, the haters, and his friends and say "hey, I'm not going to risk jeopardizing my career" is a hard thing to do. Just because x-games markets the sport as X-TREAM doesn't make the competitors dare-devils by any means. These guys are professional athletes, and as much as you might not like it they're business men in a sense. When they're marketing themselves, being in casts for a year isn't doing any good for business, or our sport for that matter.
wow one of the best noob posts i think ive ever seen. I agree completely with what you said. Hate all you want, try being his age and still competing in freestyle and racing. I will never hate on jon as he is the reason skiing has come to the level its at
