What it stands for does not matter and to be honest is long forgotten. What matters is, come out and ski with friends you may not have seen for some time or new people you have not yet met, regardless of what mountain you normally frequent. It is a glorious day of enjoyment for all concerned. Those who have attended in past can vouch for.
