So im goin out west for the first time (live in NH) and i get to go to Big sky completly free. Ive never been out there so i was wondering if anyone had any advice. Im borrowing some real fatties from a friend so im set there but ive havent heard much about Big Sky except that its huge the park sucks. But iim not goin out there to sky park so im set. Any advice?
ummm. well you have fatties but be prepared, its kinda rocky out here. they can do some serious base damage.
but lets see. challenger is always a good time, some fun steeps, trees, and little cliffs.
the tram can be really fun, but if its sunny or the weekend be prepared to wait in line for a looooooong time. its worth it though, the snow is almost always banger somewhere off the tram.
the tram accesses big culiour, which is sort of like big skys corbets. steep narrow chute, but you have to have a beacon shovel etc, and a partner, and sign up with ski patrol so they know you are in it. ive never ridden it, but it looks fun.
backside also has shedhorn which is an endless supply of lower angle trees, jibs, rollers etc. basically the funnest fucking time ever.
that covers some of the main fun spots.
park isnt even too shabby either, short down rail into a long downrail into a fun down flat
then either a rightside elbow rail, or a real poppy and fun 25ish foot jump.
then either a corrugated tube (the one i dislocated my collarbone on :/) or another about 30 foot jump.
and then a weird sort of pvc pipe rail with a wallride on the side, hard to explain.
then down a little groomer to another small park with a down box, down flat down rail, or down rail into either a pole jam to butterbox (impossible on skis) or a 10-15 foot jump, or a flat box. into a little qp with a mailbox on top.
all in all i have a damn good time here.
oh heres a video, you can disregard the park stuff since thats all changed, but everything filmed in it was filmed inbounds.
