PA post-rain Park Rebuilds?

My primary concern is Blue Mtn as thats where I get my season pass to, but I was also at Bear Creek last week and there were some dirt spots there too. After this thaw and brutal rain, it seems like a prime time for a rebuild.
To be specific, Blue could really use one. I'm not just being sour here, but the amount of snow seemed to be a problem from the start as the rails and boxes are laid in very flat without spines or rollers under them. The big "bone" box, or the double-C if you will, could particularly use a spine under it. Mostly it all just looks like an early season park, and I hope there will be an extensive rebuild during this upcoming seasonal weather snap.
Any insiders want to give us the scoop on the area mountains park plans?

The feats is ruined at Liberty. I just checked the webcams and it made baby Jesus cry. Looks like cold temps will be back soon so hopefully all the mountaisn can get back up to par

well id assume a lot of features are going to fall over if they werent completely burried before this rain so they will have to do some resetting which could prolly turn into some rail switch ups. i think bear is in need to switching up some of the rails in the old halfpipe area theyve been there a while.

Your going to have to wait a couple days for the weather to get cold enough for snowmaking just about anywhere in PA.

At Tussey, hopefully we'll be blowing snow tomorrow night, at least by Thursday night and then through the weekend. I'd have to imagine we'll get a new build sometime in there. We were talking about it before all the rain, so this should be a good opportunity.

I hope blue turns out to be good, I didn't go yesterday because of the rain and hope to get out there soon. Didn't know what to call the double c thing. Bone ledge Huh? Now that you say it it looks like an ethmoid bone or crista gali. (spelling?)

^ that's how you know I just studied for anatomy, even though it was on the nervous system.

Any word on Big Boulder? There new setup on the weekend was real good but with all this rain it's probably ruined. Worst thing is it's supposed to stay warm for another couple days :(

Just spent the night grooming to recover from the loss of 8-10inches of snow at CBK.    We will open today with Upper Moore's, Lower Moore's, and Turkey Trot.  Tonight we will be rebuilding and changing Rhododendron Glen and Raceway for a USASA Slopestyle and Boardercross this weekend. 

The Boardercross course will remain open to the public (w/ a park pass) the following week and if the weather cooperates an in house event will be held on the course the following weekend.  Stay tuned for an update on that event.

Here is what we have rebuilt since the rain:

Upper Moore's

20' flat stock down rail
20' flat box
Flat Down Flat
Down
10'x20' Flat Down box
Battleship rail



Turkey Trot

Rainbow Rail
20' Flat box
Small Table
12'x10' Up down box
20' Down box
12' round rail
12' flat rail



Lower Moore's

15' wedge jump
big barrel bonk
22' up box




If you guys have any suggestions for the upcoming build please post them.  Good (realistic) ideas are always appreciated.

eastern PA sucks.

springs has a 70 ft stepover as part of a 4 jump line.

^^^ This year has been so disappointing (for me) at Blue that I'm strongly considering moving my season pass elsewhere next year. Boulder obviously comes to mind first, but I always forget about Camelback. Sounds legit from CG's summary.
I'll need to go experience first hand...and it's closer to the Philly metro than Boulder right? Or no?

just got back from blue. re-builds on sidewinder, central, and lower all happening. sidewinder's rails have been changed up top. not sure when stuff will be open, but i'm thinking sidewinder will be tomorrow.

I think what we're going to end up doing at Bear is switching a couple things around in the next few days followed by a major rebuild of lower Black Bear early next week (I hope).  Looks like around the clock snowmaking on friday and some pretty good production on saturday so that will give us a good amount of snow to work with.

camelback is farther from philly than blue. i'm gonna agree with you, at least on the top rail section on sidewinder. it took so long for that trail to open, and there's still not a single flat rail on the whole mountain. there's no need for as many down flat down rails as they have right now, and counting the old small staircase, there are 6 down rails. why can't one of those be a flat rail?

Liberty as of 1/26 needs a full rebuild, boxes have shifted and are no longer sitting flat and lands are sink holes.

It will get rebuilt on Friday night, Hopefully we can get enough snow blown between now and then to reset everything and rebuild the jumps.

Spent 10 hours with a shovel today trying to make the park as much fun as one guy can, hang in there and starting thursday night were going to get it back on line. Shooting for a two day build, hopefully they keep pumping snow into it for us.

Word to that Evan.  All day tuesday was spent resetting all the rails to get a park open, tuesday night Joe pushed snow around and today was more of the same.  Taking a day off tomorrow and then back to the grind for the weekend.

blue has no fucking clue how to build a jump. they're begging for a lawsuit. the kicker for the last hit in the jumpline is the same size as the landing, with like 20 feet of run out before the wall ride. add the normal gaper traffic through that gap and jesus fucking christ.

I guess you're talking about the bigger jumps at the top, I stay off them, they're death. The last one is so easy to come in a high speed and kill somebody riding through. The wallride/ pipe/stair thing after that was pretty cool.

I thought the other aspects of the park were pretty fun, except for in the park with he really small jumps, you need to haul ass to hit everything if the snow is slow. I always skipped the jump at the top and used the roller for speed.

when were you up at blue? last i was there, the 2nd jump in the sidewinder jumpline was awesome. 3rd one could use a steeper/longer landing, but other than that, i thought it was shaped pretty well.

Going to Camelback tomorrow, hope it's been built well. Even if it's not it's still skiing and it's gonna be fun.

7 springs is hosting a big air comp this weekend with a four jump line that includes 45, 55 and a 65-75 footer depending on if how they cut stepover for the last hit.

Had a new set out yesterday.  Cascade has a 4 set of bmx jumps in it now. 

Before we stacked the old halfpipe area with 2 rails wide and 4 or 5 rails long.  Now its 2 wide, 3 long and one hitching post option at the end.  Lower Black Bear got changed up with a 30ft. flat box/flat down flat option, down rail/ 20ft. down box option, butterbox/ 21ft. handrail option.  It really eased up the traffic and flows waaay better now.
