Well I'm going to Vail soon and my dad just hurt he knee skiing (completely destroyed it) so I'm having to pay for some stuff and want to help my parents out, I cant get a job right now because I have school and Ill be shoveiling as soon as we get some more snow, so my question is do any of you guys have some tips on how to get alittle extra cash.

Specifics to help you help me
I'm 14

first off, you must disregard females, and acquire currency.

at your age i would see if any of your neighbors want their driveways shoveled.

This one works quite well.

Another is to go to packing plants, meaning the places that make the boxes and such they are almost always looking for some sort of help.

Post an ad on craigslist and say you'll do small chores for old people/ disabled so you can go skiing.

Just post it in the correct part of CL, for example, the casual encounters section would not be the most appropriate section unless you want to suck dick for money.

Maybe unlike 60% of NS he is actually thankful for the opportunity to ski that his parents gave to him and even though in the overall scheme of things he realizes it may not help a whole lot but it shows that he is thankful and wants to help out?

yeah i do understand that, and beleive me bro thats very admirable compared to half of the spoiled kids on here.
personally im 21 so im stuck paying for all of my shredding trips out of pocket, hence, i live at my dads house for free which is an enormous help.
but all im saying is that the kid is 14... realistically whats he gonna be able to do, other than be super thankful.

Some of you guys were really helpful (k+), and others,well not so much, thanks for the input guys, and some of you guys are saying that its not like i actually help, well i have been, i have a summer job and only have enough to pay for my ticket so far, moneys tight and i need to help, i surprised there still letting me go.

Bro I respect you a whole bunch for at least trying, If you put a lot of work into it your parents will most likely say just save it up we got you. Parents will do more for you if you show that it is really important to you. But if they still do make you pay for it, you will feel good handing that money over for some good skiing!

just becuase you are in school doesn't mean you cant get a real job. i worked through high school....had a real job and babysitting. Then in college i was full time and had 3 part time jobs. so school is not an excuse to not have a job. but you could try your guidance counselor...sometimes they have lists of local jobs or know who you can contact, as well as they are who you need to talk to about getting working papers.

Don't know colorado labor laws; but in my state you cannot work part time until your 16 years of age, while most stores require 18. That being said, look for being a paper bob for a local newspaper; you are allowed to do that, at least in my state. But truth be told, any job at your age really is not going to be worth the time, they just pay to low.

If you really want to help your family, put all your energy into your education. If you score a 4.0, i am sure it will "help" your parents much more then an extra 200 dollars. This will not only reduce stress on your parents; because they can feel confident that you are excelling well in your education. But if you can even score a small scholarship it will take a huge load off the finical burden that comes with college. Not to mention a strong education will pay much higher dividends in the future; as opposed to working part time/full time at marginal wages.

Now if your already a good student (4.0+), then ignore my 2nd paragraph.
