whats everyones opinion?
thinking of going out there and getting a house with like 5 friends that all ski and just having a good time.

also anyone know the requirements to get in?
like gpa and act score?
let me know if anyone knows just off the top of their head.

Instant admission online to anyone above a 3.0, basically.

It's nice, but there are alot of fucktards, as with any school, and a lot of mormons. Dry campus, good science and medical school. Also great music school.

i'm going there next year, it seems like it's gonna be awesome

admission was easy as hell, apply online and you find out in about two weeks, i'm going in as undecided but will probably switch to something in the medical field

the dorms are insanely nice though, it might be a good idea to stay there first year

it means you will get in trouble/written up if caught drinking in the dorms.

never got caught once drinking/smoking in the dorms in 2 years living there.


its a stupid reason to not consider the school.

dartmouth isnt dry. if you're of age you can have alcohol in the dorms.  and the UGAs (our RAs) can't write you up for violations anyway. However, bud will get you in a world of trouble

decent school, nothing special. i looked into going there but the campus was a big turn off for me. it was really dirty there was trash everywhere and just nothing seemed really nice. the only thing i liked were the dorms were brand new and up the mountain and they had amazing views, but they were pretty far away from the campus. salt lake is a cool place though, as long as mormans wont bother you. its really close to some of the best skiing on earth though. i opted for CU Boulder though because they have a much better engineering school, the campus is infinitely cleaner/nicer and the buildings here are gorgeous.

i dont know what you are tlaking abotu. i see people around campus (workers) cleaning stuff up at all times, even during the winter. I cant think of an instance when there was thrash on the ground? This place is DOPE. but yes it is a long fucking walk from dorms to class..good excersise

im just saying what my impression was. i was there for 2 days and it was by far the most littered campus i have ever been on. i wanted to go there from 7th grade until i visited on spring break senior year. im not trying to trash talk the school at all. just saying that my opinion completely changed when i visited

like compared to miles

and what is everyones opinion of freshman and dorms or houses

we have a group of guys and were deciding if we want to jump into a house first year like a ski house or just do the dorm thing for a year

do the dorms for the first year for sure. you'll meet some of your best friends in the dorms. plus if you go straight to a ski house the odds of you failing out will greatly increase.

never been there but i know this kid that went for the skiing and he transfered halfway through his first semester cause there wasnt any hot bitches, not fun, and way to many mormons. but idk this kid just wants to party all the time so...

i know kids who got caught so many times with alcohol and the worst they had to do what take a class or write a paper. Id say the U has one of the least supervise dorms ever, at least my floor was. Our RA was never home and the only time at night an RA was in the halls was once a night on weekends when they do their rounds at like fucking 9. You could rage hard all day if you wanted to and i drank and was decently loud late into the night sometimes, but we also knew all of our neighbors and hung out which helped.

Live in the dorms. Seriously, you meet soooo many people and it is seriously one of the best college experiences you can have. When you are in the dorms, the thought of having your own place is cool, but trust me, having 30 people in one hall who you end up getting close to and always knowing tons of different parties and establishing a good friend base, the dorms a certainly the way to go. You will not regret it.

thats subjective on what you want from school; what youre studying and if youd rather party more and ski less or vise versa, if you care about driving 2 hours to ski, etc.

I enjoyed it alot, coed, bout 200 yards from food and bus, right next to a parking lot and road.

Gateway heights is similar rooms, different layout kinda, like 10ft from food and bus but same sex floors and parking is farther away.

Sage point is the farthest from food and bus but has the most parking and single rooms etc.

hey now I'm mormon haha, and I have a buddy going to UoU and she loves it. seems like a really good school. plus your in the extreme sports capital of the united states more or less, so you'll have a good time either way

Lol now that I think about it that is probably true, but with dorms you can fuck around with financial aid and i think its just going to end up being easier.

Plus I never got to go to college and party it up so I think it'll be fun.

i read that the u of u dorms were rebuilt for the olympics and they were where olympic athletes were housed. so they are pretty much top notch.

you guys just uhh, need to fix them inversions with the smog. if only the city had a strong north - south wind.
