puls 4 ftw
well to be honest, so much stuff come into this so you cannot really compare anyone. i dont wanna start a brady vs manning comp (blabla, brady better in postseason, manning in reg season, blabla), but the whole system is more responsible for a qbs accomplishments than anything.
take just how much time manning got pretty much the whole second half. cassel had that too last year, and he played extraordinary well. this year, i bet you anything, he played as good as last year, but what? bad line/receiver/run game makes him look like one of the worst qbs in the league.
or shonn greene. ok, he might be good, but its no coincidence that he became the hero of the first two postseason games when you look at the best runblock-oline in the league paving the way for him.
this stuff is so far away from being comparable. the only way how you could determine "the best qb" is rotating them to all 32 teams and play 32 games a season. and still, the first series couldnt be easily comparable to the 2nd and totally uncomparable to the 32nd and so on.
BOTTOM LINE: manning is good, but it is so hard to say who is better (lets just take montana, unitas as examples, different times, different supporting cast and so on). lets just quit all this best of all-time stuff when you cant even determine the best from this season or even the best player of one game.
