Just spent a lot of time capturing and stitching this yesterday, and am really happy with how it turned out. Its a cross section of a male pine cone. I shot about 15 images through a microscope and then stitched them together in PS.
So is this like cellular level or more zoomed out? This is really cool though, you should do snowflakes or ski sidewall or anything skiing related. Base material might look cool.
Its a cross section of a whole pine cone. The sections are the leaf like things of a pine cone and the round things inside are basically spores that fall into female pine cones to reproduce. So its on the cellular level but with the stitching you can see the whole sample. 100 um = 1/10th of a mm.
Snowflakes are really cool but we dont get much real snowflakes in Rochester NY so I havnt been able to get any yet, but once i get the right conditions im definatly going to get some shots.
