GoPro HD Round 7 Winners!

Round 7 closed up with a ton of entries, here we are with the chosen out of the top 10 this week. These member each receive a GoPro HD Camera package and additional mount of their choice.

The possibilities are unlimited when you use some creativity and a lot of duct tape. I could mount the camera on my head, chest, ski tip, ski pole, POV it with a hockey stick taped to my back. But i'd much rather have a trust worthy mount and not so much duct tape A full body duct tape wrap hurts and leaves you with no hair!!

So this past Christmas, I begged my mom nonstop for a GoPro so I could film my friends and I skiing. I must not have done a good enough job of sounding out the word, because I woke up Christmas morning and much to my dismay, found this GoBRO under the tree. All he does is talk about lacrosse, frat parties, dave matthews and gamecube. Plus, he's a god awful filmer and I have to buy him a lift ticket every time we want to film. So please, send me a GoPro so I can get rid of this bro and his lacrosse stick. Thanks!

I've been dying to get some POV shots of an Olympic downhiller. So why not use local HERO and Olympic skier Steve Nyman? One night, I donned my balaclava, and with the help of my trusty roll o' duct tape, I planted the Pro. It's so compact and lightweight, I'm sure he'll never know it's there. GO US SKI TEAM!!!


There is one final round closing next week and we REALLY want to see some creativity in this one. Take a look at DuctTape, now thats the kind of thing we are looking for. We have also decided to add another twist for this final round and it will be open to the moderators as well. These guys have been sitting on the sidelines the entire contest really wanting to enter so you can bet they will come up with some amazing shots.

Get your cardboard, tape, skis and whatever else you need to make us really want to give 3 people these last GoPro HD Cameras! It is totally worth the effort of making a fool of yourself for an hour.

ok, congrats on all the winners, but i dont see how a dude holding a lacrosse stick beat out mairo plumbing a toilet, thats creative, not skiing in your yard with a lacrosse stick.

im so confused, i just entered for round 8, only one in there, obviously i give it a 10, i kid you not, 3 seconds later someone rates it a 1. all people do is rate, fucken, down...i went

We aren't only looking for funny, but that seems to be what gets rated the highest and is what we pick from. Sorry to everyone who thinks their entry was the best and didn't win, but with 50+ entries every week and only 3 winners someone has to get passed up

what got rated the highest was entered the day before where all the kids had everyone they know vote them a 10 and others a 1. and that pushed mine and others who were better out of the top 10 even though we had way more votes than they did.

the LAX one, a GoBro was actually pretty funny.

Some of the others that got top rated though were gash. It should be judged by a few people, which would stop it from being a "who can persuade the most people to click a button" competition, and actually about the best idea

I realize the contest only has 1 more week, so it's kinda too late to change anything, but I have one complaint. I think the number of votes should be taken into account, because it's true that people enter on Friday and end up with like 15 votes, all their friends, all 10's, compared to somebody who has 200+ votes and an average of 4.something (as most the pictures are rated). It's just not fair to people who entered their picture earlier in the week.

Sometimes I wish people would give us a little more credit then we get. Each round we have manually gone through thousands of votes to ensure that the Top 10 we choose from is as accurate as possible. Funny thing is no matter how often we say it people still insist on trying to cheat the system.

We admit there have been some problems over the length of this contest, which has been our longest running to date, but we'd like to think we've kept it as fair as possible. Like it or not the winners have been chosen, and we're sorry for all those people who weren't chosen.

This being the final round and hoping to get the best winners yet, we are doing things a little different. Here's how its going to work:
- We are starting with the voting closed
- Entries will be accepted till mid day friday
- Friday we close the entries and open the voting for the weekend
- Monday the 31st NS staff and the GoPro reps will chose our favourite out of the ton 10 and award those members their GoPro HD prize packs

Remember this final round is open to our moderators as well, but since the contest page doesn't show colours, the GoPro reps don't know who they are so they have the same chance as everyone else.

So get Creative and show us why you really Deserve to win a GoPro HD

I understand that you can't vote other entries down, but are we allowed to vote our own a 10? I don't want to vote mine a 10 if it will disqualify me. Should we just not vote on any of them?
