Stratton big park

how is the new big park in sunbowl...how are the jumps and the new pipe

also is there any new rails that they set up in the big jump line

big park starts off with a butter box snow platform thing. then it goes to a flat bar and then a single barrel down rail. all rails are 30 feet. last three features r the jumps. The first two are probably 50 footers and the last is close to 60 ft. the pipe is a couple hundred feet down and its real big and long. about 500 ft and walls are 18 or 19 ft. should be more rail features in the next couple weeks tho. they had a bunch of unplanted rails on the side of the trail some kinks and shit looking real good this year

so stratton finally figured out that it makes more sense to build a permanent park in the sun bowl, than build seperate competition course after building all their park? it fuckin took them long enough. i rode there for a while and every year they wasted money building a separate course for the us open. maybe i should go there again sometime

word. its definitely worth it now. they also have a medium park on sunbowl as well and their halfpipe is open and the best part is... its not crowded like MT SNOW's park.... i sessioned it all sunday with no wait to hit anything..

last kicker in the pro park is scary fun.. around 60-65ft and can shoot it to probably 80ft without issue. lippy as hell

idk if you lap the double inferno and the gulch are never super crowded.  nitro is always a mess thuogh

this is gonna sound crazy but the landing on the top two jumps are too steep. stratton still sucks at making lips and the first two jumps have flat take offs with mad steep landings. personally i hate that park. that last jump is decent but in my opinion stratton still has a lot of work to do. i exclusivly ride stratton and i can safely say that mt.snow or okemo are far better. think about it.. stratton's "pro" park has 6 features total. it sucks. dont waste the $90 a day to go there

its $82.. and i got a season pass...

landings are perfect. they match the take offs just right.

There are only 6 features for now... it is the US OPEN course so it makes sense.. They are planning to add more further down. give them time.

You want features, hit the medium park, it has a lot of rails/boxes, and a few jumps.

landings are definitely not too steep, they all seem to be very well made. However there is really no point to having two lips on the second jump, it may look cool but it would a lot better if they had a single wide takeoff. They should also put in a few rails/boxes at the end if they don't plan on building another jump. Other than that its a solid park.

either you are retarded or you want people to not ride stratton...im an okemo regular and okemo blows in comparison to strattons new park, strattons jumps are much bigger and allow for twice as much hangtime than anything okemo offers.

TOO STEEP landings!!!!!! are you kidding me!!! go to okemo, you'll love their flat-as-shit landings.

maybe okemo has more features, but ill take the quality and size of strattons jumps over okemo's small asa booters anyday

i am really impressed with Stratton this year. it being my home mountain i always try and defend it but it needs no defending here, besides the small shortage of rails on the big park (which should be changing soon) everything is perfect.

in the big park the butter box is pretty fun and creative which is something Stratton isn't known for, the flat bar is setup nicely as is the down rail. the jumps are a lottt of fun. haven't hit them too much because i've been pretty busy racing but the 6 runs i've taken in it just makes me want moreee. Middlebrook is a lot of fun too. though there isn't a lot of variation with rails its pretty packed full of features and everything is a lot of fun.

good job Stratton, i'm very happy with this years park.

Stratton is an impressive resort, and their park is ill, however it holds no comparison to Mt Snow Carinthia this year..

you can stay at mt snow with your fulltilts and ill ride the empty non-tall tee park at stratton..

Hit up Stratton for my first time on Sunday and I agree with everything everyone else has said.

In the mini park though right near the main lift, it was weird to see such steep take offs, I feel like they should make it 3 hits and spread it out instead of trying to squeeze 4 in

to bad they will shut all of this down so SPT and Planet can build the slope and pipe for the us open in about 3-4 weeks, looks good  for now though

Park WILL be open before and after US Open. They opened the park and pipe this year because years previous they felt it made no sense to open it just for the us open. More than likely, right before the us open they will reshape the jumps for more lip. Just like they did on Suntanner for years previous for the VT Open.

The Sunriser Supertrail Terrain Park will close Monday, March 1 in order to build the park for the US Open Snowboarding Championships, March 15-22. Mark your calendars and make sure to check out some of the worlds best riders and 2010 Olympians during this huge competition. Crews are working hard to open an additional terrain park on Old Smoothie and are planning on dropping the ropes on Friday, March 5.  The halfpipe will remain open until March 7.

whenever i go to mount snow it is fun to ski but the kids are douches. Okemo and Stratton have always been more fun for me because people in the park are nice and give me some pointers and stuff.
