Sidewall Chip Near Edge + Picture

Yea..so im one of the guys that made a thread about topsheet chipping. Ive gotten over that but have a new problem. I noticed a chip off the sidewall of my chronics. I know this wouldnt be a problem otherwise, but it it pretty close to the edge. Im wondering of there is a risk of the edge ripping off or something of that sort. Shounld i do something or take it to the shop? Thanks

nope. sorry i didnt clarify. the edge is on the left and the topsheet is on the right, the part that is bulging out

It's hard to see from that pic but I think you should be fine. Is the core exposed at all? If it is you might want to seal it up. I really don't think it is going to affect your edge really, especially if it's not right underfoot.

If you are worried take them into your shop, but I definitely have tons of those on my skis and never really do anything about it.

i have those chronics, my edges are all cracked and bent but haven't pulled out so far.. not as bad as yours though by the looks

also had a buddy that smashed his bulged edge in with a hammer and hasn't complained yet but who knows

no core is exposed. it is a little forward from the binding toepiece

the edge isnt bulging, its the topsheet. i was worried because the chip is near the edge (on the left)

Get used to it. That's what is happening on my disorderlys. The sidewalls get beat to shit and they are still good. So no need to worry unless core is showing

You will prob be fine,
Maybe fill it up, flex the ski in that place, left and right to feel if there is anny diff.

I have the same ski, it almost got ran over by the snowcat and now has a few gouges like that, but still feels good.

^^not really sure why you would say that. im just asking a question about my skis (that i buy with my own money...along with all of my other gear). i dont have all the $ to buy another pair of skis.

thats nbd. that happens a lot with newly sharpened skis. They knock against each other and youll get a knick like that on your topsheet.as long as no core is exposed your fine. you could just take a file and file it down to make it smooth. thats not bad enough to need epoxy or anything
