Replying to Waterproofer for outerwear?

so i finally broke down and washed my saga gear. it's on it's third or fourth season (i can't remember when i bought it) but it's easily got over 150 days on it and it was pretty dirty. and the fabric was just starting to become less waterproof than it was when it was new. so i washed it. and i ordered aqua armor to rewaterproof it. does this stuff work? or should i have bought something else? i'm pretty much flat broke so i don't wanna ruin my outerwear with a crap product.
