Please Help Me find skis!

ok so i just found out my elan mo2 rail park skis are fried...now i need to get a new pair. So i decided ns could help me narrow my choices down to what i really want.
-first off, i want a pretty durable ski, i know cap is a little more durable then sidewall. but sidewall helps when your skiing more.

-Also i want a ski that is in the 169-176 range.

-i dont want something too skinny underfoot because my last pair was only 76. but i dont want a really fat park ski like the lizzies...

-also my brother has the atomic punx from 2 years ago, and i know they are symetrical.. and i liked them alot on rails and stuff. So i am looking for a more symetrical ski...but not only symetrical. I also really like the salomon dumonts (from 07/08 with bubbly graphic) even though they were not symetrical...

-i dont want a extremely stiff ski because my last pair was and it just brought me pain.. but i also dont want a supper super soft ski where i will wash out..

- For Bindings, i narrowed it down to the jester/griffon and the new rossi fks. I dont know a lot about turntable bindings, so i dont know how they are as opposed to the jesters/griffons..

-lastly, i probbly will not buy a brand new ski from this year, and if i do it probbly wont be super expensive.. im looking for models from last year or the year before. my max is 300 for new skis or semi-used.. but this thread is not for selling me stuff, its for help narrowing down to what skis i want.

-by the way im 6' and im 150lbs...

You could find afterbangs or invaders. They ride like butter. But look more around. I hear Armada is good.

i havent heard much about the afterbangs, i know the invaders are super soft, and i like armada, they just chip fairly easily... +k for help/bump

I just got a pair of 2010 K2 Extremes and they are very nice if you like alot of park, I feel they are in the 7/10 stiffness wise, I enjoy them a ton. They are also very forgiving

ive heard good things about the extremes, the only drawbacks that i have seen with them (my buddy has a pair) is that the sidecut is like my old skis (which is what i want to stay away from) and they are bascially the pe's with a different graphic, also are they light? i really want to try to stay to lighter skis. but +k for help/bump

alpha 2's. best park ski ive ever been on. i love rockered tips and they are super buttery and just all around fun and durable.

Anthems may be for you. Sure people say they're a buttery ski, but they're super solid on jumps and the symmetrical shape and 93mm waist are awesome. I own a pair and I love 'em.

If that's too soft, the Chronics are a medium flex all mountain ski with an 85mm waist.

Sorry about the Line praise, I'm just biased because of my 09 Anthems.

K2: Kung Fujas. Rockered, sidewall construction, 95mm waist and near symmetrical(like 5mm diff).

Salomon: I'm not much for Salomon aside from their boots, but the Dumont is very well balanced.

Armada: AR6's. good rival to the rest.

Moment: Reno Jibs.

4FRNT: Click!'s.

That's all I can think of right now.

I ski that is good on rails and park ..and has good side cut, symetrical, wont wash out but still is playful and will be around you size are the chronic cyrpontit..  and it pretty much fits all the things you said..for the most part

Yes. But he doesn't want 09/10 skis due to $$. That's why I said chronics.

thanks for the help guys +k for both. the only thing about the anthems is that they are 93 underfoot. i want to stick to something more like the chronics which are 85 i think. i want to stay away from anything underfoot thats more then like 88... what have you guys heard about the punx?

That's not that big.  Are you afraid you'll lose too much turn radius? I'm curious to your objection to waists in the 90's.

I second the Chronics. my '07 Chronics are my #2 ski in my quiver (#1 being a decidedly fatter K2 Obsethed).

The chronics are a solid ski, pretty light relative to to comparable skis. And if you can find some earlier models they are mad cheap. I scored my '07's for $280 offseason.

i think its cause my old park skis were 76 underfoot... so im a little skeptical about the turn radius and getting them on edge. and some of the skis that i really like (such as the punx) are only 82 underfoot

I used to have old 68mm waisted Head C205 race skis. I got the Anthems because of their waist. I was tired of my feet hurting from every big jump I took. Was I also worried about a loss in turn radius? Hell yes. But I was pleasantly suprised that there was little radius lost in that department. By all means I'm not trying to get you to like Anthems, but that there is little turn radius lost in 90-100mm waisted skis. You'll still be able to turn as sharp as you ever did. Besides, turn radius only comes into effect when you truly carve.

...Actually, I realize that may seem really biased. If you're still unconvinced, go with Chronics or Dumonts as those seem to be good fits. My friend has Dumonts, loves 'em.

I would say punx is a pretty good choice.. not too stiff, not too soft.

I really like mine.. Really light and enough to do butters and stiff enough to land bigger jumps.

after hearing that i feel a lot better. my shins and my legs KILL everytime after a jump! and i thought it was my boots (i have the sollly spk kaos) im gonna look into the anthems to see what i can find. thanks man! any other "mid fat" skis you could call the anthems that are like them?

Kung Fujas or Chronic Kryptonite are all within 90-100, there aren't many else. Many fall under the 80-90mm range (exept for the lizzies) and many are good too. The foot pain is likely because of some metal in the skis. You land, it vibrates, it hurts your feet. The shin pain is likely shinbang. I alleviate this by putting in pieces of soft foam in front of my shins. Takes the pressure right off.

with the shin bang though, i got the kaos because they were said to not create any shin bang, do you think it might be my boots too?

They can say that, but it may not be true for certain individuals, like me. No need to get new boots, just put in beer coasters or even soft sponges as that's what I've heard some people use.

i love my 2010 punx in a 164. i think they make em longer too. i'm super small at 115 pounds so i can't butter em well or at all but i love em for everything else. hope this helps.

yeah dude no problem. personally i would highly reccomend em. they are my first symmetrical ski but i am finally used to them and since i ski switch more often than i do forward they are great. idk but i think they made some changes from the old ones and whatever they did if they did anything they really got it right with these skis. the only thing is that they sink in pow unless you are hauling ass. but these days you really gotta own two pair of skis lol. yeah tho i'd highly recommend em. i like to ski everything but i like being in the air more. they are light and super flickable. they handle flips and spins and hard landings great and they pop like my chronics but are more forgiving. love em.

I went from Anthems last year, to the Surface Watch Life this year, and I like them a lot better than my anthems. The Watchlifes are more stiff, and lighter, and poppier and more fun overall. And this is the 08/09 WL, they changed it completely this year.

the invaders are too soft for me, and the afterbangs only come in 177 and 166
