GoPro Mount to Ski Pole

Alright guys, I want to mount my GoPro onto a ski pole... how do I do it??

If you use the coal miner helmet strap rig and point the camera straight down, you can get similar footage that looks really awesome.  I found that out after a nice crash today that moved the camera.

true. haha

right now i'm working on a kinda sketchy way of attaching it to a ski pole

i sawed off the end (above the basket) and then sawed parallel to the aluminum

- is the pole = is where i sawed

and then i sawed down a little (into the pole, where the i's are) and am folding the rest around to make a flat surface

from there, i'm going to stick an adhesive mount on!

he's not using the ski pole in a traditional fashion, he's using it as a boom. like what those USC guys do.

isnt the seatch bar great, bump to find out how you guiz have done it. does the handle bar mount work for ski poles?

handle bar does work at the top of most ski poles or on the handle, the headstrap mount has a little hole under the fabric on the mount part, and if you jam the pointy part of a ski pole in there that works pretty well surprisingly, or you can take the base the go pro came on, cut out the mount part, super glue and ducktape it the fuck onto the top of your pole (i run my pole strap screw through it too) and this works well but is always on your pole, i have done it to two poles

take a block of wood and drill a hole big enough to fit a pole in and then silicone the pole in the hole and take a go pro flat adhesive mount and stick it to the block of wood

I don't know how well it work's but some people hammer a old pole so its flat and put a normal mount on it.

if u reely dont want to use a handel bar mount, u can use a tripod mount and this:

I cut a square out of a disc golf disc and drilled it into an old pole and the put a flat adhesive mount on it and its pretty solid.

what i did that works really good and is really easy, is buy the tripod mount for the gopro, then just get a 1/4 inch bolt and nut and drill a hole through your pole. throw the bolt threw the hole and screw the tripod mount on the other side. then tighten the nut from the other side and there you have it. sorry if that was a little confusing

get the handlebar mount from go pro. easiest and in my opinion best way off attaching. you can put the mount on the grip to use the pole as an extension to film other people, turn it around and film yourself. or put duct tape around the pule just under the handle and attach it there with it pointing forward and film what you're skiing. and then you can take the mount off and us your pole normally, as well as using the mount for biking like it's meant to be used. it's pretty much awesome and requires no work or anything like building a pole mount and you can use your existing pole instead of sacrificing one you already have.
