So I haven't had the opportunity to go up in a couple weeks, but I just went yesterday and their setup is so sick right now.  A pretty good 3 jump line, some good rails, and a wacky jib park.

Got back from crystal today. they got the 3 jump line that people were pulling 7's today off the last one. they got an a-frame and rainbow box. 2 double barrel rails. beginner park next to that with 2 short rails and 2 boxes.

Then under the high speed quad they look like they got maybe the beginning of a half pipe in the works.....a spine, a c-box, some other boxes. and a quarter pipe at the very end.

It would make sense for them to plow the quarterpipe over and make a pipe with all that snow. it was a good day

ya i was up at crystal this weekend and was having so much fun on those three jumps... the third one was quite a bit bigger than anything i can remember ever hitting at crystal

the park under the clipper is a load of bullshit and a waste of snow. with that said, its kinda fun for a little while...i'll get some footy up here shortly. meanwhile the park jumps' landings are gonna be pushed up so they should be smoother here in the near future.

Biggest lie I've ever heard, Crystal's park sicks right now. The three jump line is a load of crap, yeah you can throw down on the three jump line if you don't mind shitty takeoffs and flat landings. The rails next to the jumps are decent, but nothing to write home about. And the And the 'wacky jib park' is the biggest waste of snow I've ever seen. The A-frame and barrel jibs are set up in the most awkward, inconvient setup ever, and the spine is just asking for gapers to break their legs on... and the quater pipe is icy and waivier then shit... I went up this weekend with high hopes, but was just let down by the never ending shittiness that Crystal seems to provide in their park.

I respectfully disagree. The park was ok, but nothing to get excited about. Yeah you could apin 7's or maybe even bigger on the jumps as long as you didn't mind your knees hurting like a bitch afterwards from the flat landings. And like I said the rails were set up ok, but I don't see how the park under the clipper would be fun to anyone. I would love to hear you argument for why Crystal's park is good... but just calling me a bad skier isn't going to do it.

When I was there hitting that jump line it was doooppe. Takeoff was a little flat for my liking but if you just pop, then the things sick. And as for the landings, they were sick. Did not hurt at all, unless you knuckled, which I'm guessing maybe you did?

And I'd have to say that their rails have always been set up fine. With a mix of urban set up and ride ons, I don't know what else you could ask for.

When were you there? I was up there Saturday adn just don't think the jumps were that good. The first jump was so little it was a joke, would have been way more fun if there had been a rail set up instead. The second jump actually had a kinda nice takeoff that sent you up a bit, but you had to speed check really had before it, if you took it deep at all it was a kinda rough landing,l and even if you hit the sweet spot it was still pretty flat. Third jump had a flat takeoff/flat landing, which didn't really hurt but wasn't fun. As for the rails I said that they were set up fine, except for the rainbow box and that little jib park under the clipper. And once again you are telling me I didn't like it because I suck and knuckle jumps... really strong argument there bud.

you're right man crystals park is lacking currently... it's wierd cause our park crew is the shit and they'll do anything to make riding a shitty 300 ft hill fun. still somehow nothing sick ever gets done. ever.

Ive been skiing at boyne forever along with The Ski Bowl in grand haven, and I like both and have always liked going up north.  But this weekend a friend of mine and I did not go or north or ski in GH
we planned it out so that we would go to Timber Ridge friday,  Alpine valley saturday, and crystal friday, but we were so shocked at how surprisingly sick alpine and timber ridge were we went back to TR sunday for the comp.  Screw all the resorts up north, boynes isnt that good, same with nubs or highlands.  Crystals jumps are nice but and rails are alright but seriously if you want to go to a place for a sick park in the lower peninsula right now its Otsego club, Bittersweet, Timber Ridge, or Apline valley.  Just look online at how sick these places are now.

i can't ride everything right now at crystal. Just boxes basically, and I haven't even tried the rainbow rail yet.


The spine......I just try and go up and land on the pipe, then see if I can 180 off. I am still just doing 1's off the jumps because I have yet to land a 360, but I have only tried about 6 times before getting all butt hurt on a double rail I was on.

Alright alright I guess it has been 2 weeks since I've been there. But still, I'm pretty stoked on their park this year compared to years past. I mean its definitely not the greatest park, but still good for Crystal.

Yeah, I think the thing that really upset me about it this year is that I feel like it has so much potential, but it just isn't put together perfect. Like the big jump line would be so dope if it was just cut a hair different. And the park under the clipper could be so fun with a bunch of jibs in one run, but they're all spread out and built kind of awkwardly. I think your right that it has way more potential than years past, but its a shame to see what could be an awesome park built to mediocre standards.

Truth.

While it may be a bit awkward still, its definitely more effort than I've seen put into crystals freestyle shit for as long as I've been skiing there. At least its a step in the right direction.

as of right now the jump line is pretty shitty, with the second having a massive kick and the third having absolutely no kick. plus they're all shorter now and shittier in general...should be having a park build soon though so we'll see what happens

they have even more rails and boxes setup now. its not bad. theres something for everyone except a half pipe.

on sunday in the most beginner terrain park in between the clipper and the jump line.... had a kid wipe out on the rail there and they had an ambulance there with ski patrol and shit.

i didn't watch much of it, but the ski patrol seemed concerned thats for sure.

After hitting the new jumps at mt. holly I've realized that crystal's jumps just aren't as good for some reason.  The one's at holly seem to pop you up higher, have bigger gaps, better lips, and better landings.
