Mad River Capital Park

This should help end any rumors that are still circulating about Mad River.

Capital Park is sick - you definitely need to get out here at least once this season.

True story! The jumps got reshapped and are soooo nice right now. 1 is great for learning stuff off, 2 is a little bigger with more pop, 3 is probably the biggest and has the perfect amount of pop and loft, and then the big air is set up after that with the big lip that keeps you up in the air for a few seconds and the smaller lip which is similar to the first jump.

The rails are constantly changing which is nice... I think every time I've rode there they have moved them around or added new ones which keeps it real interesting and fun. Up rail, whale tail rail, DFD rail are all set up perfect and they are throwing in a variety of other rails and boxes to throw down and progress on! Everyone should come out sometime! I'm in the process of working on an edit soon for those of you who want to see some footage of the place first!

did some drunken flips last weekend....jumps were not the same as the dew tour park at mt. snow from last year but it was all good.

The Traveling Circus made thier way here for 2-3 days of shooting, both cameras and guns, the episode is up now. real good stuff. We have both the MRM Open and Red Bull Rustbell on the horizon, less than 2 weeks away; i'll let you know more details soon.

yeah, at the time there was a 3 jump line, all were significantly bigger with deeper landings than when you PNS crew came up during the LVRJ. As of now it's up to 4 with  his/her lips on 2-4. 1 is absolute money, finally got corks and d-spins somewhat dialed (thanks terman), and 3 sends you DEEP.

When TC was here we all took one lap on the jumps, however the snow was just too slow that day, none of us safely cleared the knuckle on 3 which was the only one we tried.

So yes, MRM has a kick ass jump lane and the crew does a damned good job at maintaining them.

My first time at Capital Park was today. I'm impressed. They had a ton of features. I wish I could get the jumps consistently, but that is probably more about me sucking than them being built wrong. I had a great time none the less.

Must be something in the water down there because 90% of you bitch about any other resort besides your own. Try being open minded for once. This is a trial and error year for MRM's park and I can promise you that once they have it dialed in, other resorts will struggle to compete.

Read traveling circus' blog - they said MRM blew every expectation they had out of the water. They spent over 3 days at MRM and hot lapped the rails. The weather was crappy; 10 to 15 degrees with northwest winds, which usually prevent you from hitting the larger side of the jumps.

Start drinking bottled water and think out side the box.

First off, when is the last time you have rode at MRM?
Second, everyone knows TC are all rail guys.

Can we please stop with all the hate, Perfects has its pros and cons as does MRM.

Just got back from Mad River tonight, nothing but some of the best I have skied this year. Last weekend I was up at Peak n Peak and there park has no chance and competing with Capital Park. Was out in Colorado over winter break, obviously the jumps were a lot bigger and better but the amount of features Mad River has put out is unbelievable. The park is set up mostly for good riders, this I noticed has kept a lot of people who dont belong there out. From tonight you can hit up to 11 rails in just one run with plenty of space in between each one. I know the weather is going to be bad this weekend so if I were you I would try and make it up asap. Nothing but good stuff here.

I went up today and would have never guessed that it has rained all week. The set up was soo sick still. all of the hard features are still in and were in great shape. The jump line was incredible, the speed was amazing and you could hit all 4 jumps, yes 4, with ease. With promising weather in the forecast next week's big air contest should be banger!

I'm sure perfects is fun. Its always nice to hit 4 jumps rather than 1. That means for every run we take, you take 4. Once mrm is on point no one int the midwest will come close, I don't care how perfect you think your sets-ups are

Hold on now, Perfects not even coming close. Thats a bold statement you got going there.

Im not trying to hate, I honestly liked MRM when I was their and plan on bringing some of our riders down to film for our upcoming movie. You guys have definitely stepped up for game from last year and I respect that, hey it gives me another location to film.

But to say no park in the midwest will come close to MRM is kinda ridiculous. Each hill around here as its pros and cons, same goes with MRM and PNS.

From my visits at MRM they have a good variety of rails, and a jump LINE.

Perfects has wayyyyyy faster laps, PERSONALY I like how things are set up at PNS better, such as rails lips, but to each his own. Plus the vibe here is soooooo good. Everyone knows each other, thats why you never see threads about who will be their which day.

Oh and I think you might be able to do 3 laps to MRMs 1, depending on with lift you take at MRM, so the 4 laps to 1 is closer than you think.

In the end, both places offer great parks, I just wish people would stop fighting on whos is better and TRAVEL TO OTHER HILLS COMPS. I always feel like we are the only crew anymore that travels.

MRM Big Air is this saturday, 1/30 at 6pm. No Red Bull Rustbelt though. It was cancelled. But it will be a great time with a new park set-up, new bottom jumps, good times, and lots of swag to give out. here's the event schedule:

  • 3:00pm-5:00pm – Registration in the DEN

  • 4:30pm – 5:30pm – Practice

  • 5:45pm – Rider meeting at the TOP RACE HUT on SUGARBUSH
  • 6:00pm –           Ski AM Division

Snow AM Division

Ski Pro Division

Snow Pro Division

                                    (2-3 runs per rider depending on participants)

  • 9:30pm – Awards in the LOFT

i wouldnt say you do more traveling than everybody else. for example ive been to louie vito jam and big air at mrm, fahey jam at pns, snowtrails big air, and bmbws cannon comp

Ok you do travel, who else does tho.

I remember days when the FP crew was all over the midwest, and whenever Perfects had a comp people form paoli, MRM, and snowtrails were all here to compete. Now it seems its just locals at the hill.

Idk, its whatever. Our crew will continue to travel around to where we see fit and have as much fun as we can.
