All of these threads saying that someone's skis got jacked piss me off. How much does a setup cost? About $500.00 for skis and around $200.00 for bindings? That's a $700.00 setup. I know that personally I would never leave something that I own unattended and unprotected if it cost me that much. So that's why I invested in a cable ski lock. They cost $8.00. They take 5 seconds to put on or take off. They're lightweight. They're really easy to use.

I guess I feel sorta sorry for all you people who got shit stolen, but is it really that tough to buy and use a lock?

how do u attach that to ur skis ... no hate... but do u like put it really really right inbetween the bindings and a metal pole or what ?

Put it through the heelpiece. I know it would work on my FKS or on PX heels and like jesters and shit. Not too sure abot other bindings though.

yeah my mine dont have that or any holes kinda sucks ... i usally just seperate my skis to diffrent racks

You wrap it around a pole and through a part in your binding.
Every binding has a hole in it somewhere.

the lock is retactable so you just wrap it around the front and read binding of the ski and then retract it enough so nobody can slip the cable over.

wow, you dont need to put it thorugh any holes... you simple put your skis base to base and put em on a ski rack. the wrap the cable around the ski rack and around your skis under foot... then press the little botton and the cord will pull tight like a seat belt does when you pull it to the end and comes back but wont let you pull it again till you reset it..
the skis can be stolen unless the took the binder off cuz the cable is inbetween your heelpiece and your toepiece...
not a dificult concept

well i thought the integrity of skiers was higher than it really is.  plus on top of it being pay your age day and hundreds upon hundreds of kids converged on carinthia it wasnt a good call.  plus another 3 kids got their skis stolen the day i had mine so im guessing it was probably the same fag thats ACLs are gona blow the first time he tries to ski.

 if someone wants them bad enough they will find a way to get them,, i.e. snip that little cable.


ski check is the best bet.. if they dont have that, dont let them leave ur sight

I think you might be being a bit harsh and over the top, people arn't stupid, if the person trying to steal the skis really wants them, then there going to fucking get them, nobody is stupid and they've all heard of locks and believe it or not, so have thieves

ive talked to some local shop guys...and alot of the thefts arent kids looking to snatch the hottest new skis its people who know they are going to steal skis and most times sell them to make money. That being said theyre not going to risk being noticed by messing and fidgeting around with someones stuff. Cutting a lock is way more suspicious than someone grabbing a pair of skis and just walking away. Theres really no reason not to lock ur stuff considering that the risk of getting your stuff stolen will decrease dramatically

those wires would be easy to cut if someone was determent. just get the ski key. 20 bucks and way better

ive seen those little cable locks broken before. (it doesnt take much)

if im locking up some skis i use something like this badboy. you can get them at wallys world for about $4. you wont be breaking this. however its a bit bulkier. but i just throw it in a cargo pocket in my pants and never feel it.

As people have said, if someone wants them they'll take them, lock or not. But nobody is going to bother cutting a lock and having everyone notice them fussing with your skis when they can just take a different pair and walk away. It does the job.

Locks aren't the absolute solution, its a deterrent but every bit helps and definitely a better solution then just putting your skis on the rack and hoping.

and as for cutting that wire.... wire snips are going to cut that shit. its not a wire its a BRAIDED STEEL CABLE... it may be thin but someone would notice far before someone could possible cut that thing

true but usually theres some better skis than mine...as a matter of fact if its convenient i usually lock my skis next to a pair of really nice ones haha
