Replying to Why Tanner is a great icon in skiing

So after whatching Tanner's latest shout out to the skiing community I got to thinking about different icons in extreme sports (ie what Shaun White is to Snowboarding, Tony Hawk was to Skateboarding, basicly the top pro everyone looks up to), and how we are extremely lucky to have someone like Tanner to be so committed to not only skiing, but the community they are apart of. I don't notice other sport pros that keep there fans update almost regularly with their lives and involvment in the sport, how many times has Shaun White spoken out on a reg basis to the snowboarder community, if for none other reason than to amp people up about the sport they love? This is just my opinion, but to see Tanner still involved, even after having to take an entire season off/ officialy retireing from the xgames just shows how much he really does care about skiing. Even if the beer goggles are on, Tanner just wants to spread the joy of what skiing is, which is shredding with your friends and enjoying life. I am thankful to have such an involved and stoked figurehead in our sport, and am glad to say I look up to Tanner Hall not only as a skier, but as a pro who really cares about the younger generation of skiers.
