Just wanted to let everyone know that entries for the 2010 Oakley Jib-Vid in Mayrhofen, Austria are now open at
http://www.jib-vid.com. It's the 6th year for the comp and it's set to be the biggest yet, taking place from 17th-19th March.
If you don't know what Jib-Vid's about; then here's a quick rundown:
18 teams of 3 have 28 hours in Mayrhofen to produce a 2-minute film showcasing their best skiing / boarding / filming / editing / creativity. The films are all handed in by midday on Friday 19th, and then a big projection party is thrown where the teams judge each others films.
There's a prize fund of 10,000 euros; with the winning team receiving 5,000 euros. Entry is completely free and the 18 teams picked to compete recieve free liftpass, accomodation, party entry as well as some free meals and event merchandise.
In the past this has been primarily snowboard-focused, but over the past few years more skiers have been entering and it would be good to increase the number of applications from ski or mixed teams even more.
Last year's winner was the O'Neill / Isenseven team which is embedded below, along with a couple of the films from previous years which featured skiers.
I hope some of you will apply this year, be great to get some teams over from the US; the Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen is awesome, there's some great freeride terrain too and some wicked parties.
