Does anyone do anything to keep their fitness levels up like going to the gym or weights or anything like that?

yeah defetnly try to, i try to exercise 5 times a week lol weither that actually happens...well different story :P

I've been training for 2 years and half now. But i go there 2-3 times a week. I'm not huge but it definately helped me a lot. I've become much stronger and more endurant. It really help me for when I'm skiing too. In my opinion, it is really helpful.
