yea never bought into him at all. I do like some stuff on the saddle creek label- namely cursive. That dntel track with Conor Oberst (bright eyes) is really dope tho

They are alright. I respect most emo bands for being entertaining, but I hate Conor Oberst's writing. It's too "I"m trying to be Bob Dylan-ey"

It is NOT all the same. His lyrics and music are the most amazing thing ever. I know some complain about his voice, but it's about the emotion that he puts into singing all of his songs that make him simply outstanding. I have seen him as Bright Eyes, Mystic Valley Band, and most recently with Monsters of Folk. If you want to see a real show with some amazingly talented musicians, then Monsters of Folk is definitely the show to see. I didn't really like the album at first, but after seeing it live makes the album so much better.

Back on to Bright Eyes. I am so crushed that this year their final album will be released : ( But I am glad that Conor is in a happier place now (which is the reason why Bright Eyes is ending) but I will still miss this band the most. He has a song for virtually any situation in life, which is another reason he is such a great artist. My all-time favorite favorite favorite band, and +k to the OP who, like myself, believes BE should have it's own thread.

Ahhh /rant. haha

Get over yourself fangirl. Oberst is nowhere near talented enough to warrant such praise - and Monsters of Folk is like every other folk band ever, but with way too much reverb.

This is one of the most awesome posts I've ever seen.

Also, Bright Eyes has always warranted nothing but an indifferent "meh" accompinied by a shrug of the shoulders from me.

BUT thats just my opinion and doesn't pertain to anyone else and I won't act like any disagreement with it is a personal offense. See lahnabonny, its that easy.
